2006 CBR 1000RR starting problems
well ive been having problems strating up my brothers bike these past couple of days. on a cold start, first ride of the day, i have to crank it about 4 times until it starts. (about 5-10 secong cranks) and when it finally starts up it dies out right away. and then the next 1 or 2 or 3 starts do the same thing. after that it starts right up and runs and stays on like normal. any ides? only engine mod is a akrapolvic ti slip on. thats it!

The pipes not the issue... how is the bike cutting out... is it s sudden cut out or does it stumble then die?

Does he have a power commander?
Make sure he has the right map, my gsxr used to do that
get it tuned, it is really rich, hell all of the maps from dynojet are rich as hell
makes your bike run like crap when cold

That slip could be causing it, because it is more free flowing, hence you probably need a little bit more fuel when cold.

i know what a power commander is. it doesnt have one. its been runing fine for a long while now. theres 7500 miles on it. i know the air fuel mixture is way off. it can be that it needs a power commander tho. but i just wasnt sure if it could be something else also.

i got a one in a million faulty pwr commander and the symptom was a random stall, thats why i asked
if the air fuel mixture is way off, would it be possible that the sparkplugs are damaged from that? new plugs will prolly most likely cure your problem, but they'll get damaged again unless the fuelling is addressed
