Re: (GSRswapandslow v2)
you've got an oil % indicator on your instrument panel, but i generally go every 5k because i drive mostly highway and it takes a LONG time for it to go to zero percent.

You don't want it to go to 0%. 15% I where you should change the oil.

Re: (SuzukaBlueAP2)
bah, i just make the wife take it to honda on her lunch break. it's a pita to jack that thing up with the front lip, and it's her car anyways. not to mention it's just about as cheap to get it done there than it is to do it yourself!

Re: (adamrich33)
it would be one thing if it were my only car, but i have 5 others that i change the oil on anyways. plus i don't have access to the car most of the time anyways. btw, was that a decent filter, or a cardboard fram?

Re: (E-AT_me)
good ole fram tough guard. i have ran these for years on my turbo hondas with no probs. but back to the oil change what is factory recommendation so my warranty is voided. i really dont trust the oil life indicator. i was at 3900 miles with 60% oil life.

Really? I truly don't know anyone that runs FRAM oil filters on their Hondas.

It all depends on how you drive. Mine has let me go 5500 miles before hitting 15% oil life.

my friend works for Honda and they can go for 7500 without an oil change, I went up to 6000 with 30% life left for an oil change, 15% when you should have an oil change

Re: (actionanh)
Does the Fit engine (L15A1 if I remember correctly) take the same spin-on filters as the older D and B series engines? I have a case of those in the garage and I'd love to be able to use them when our Fit comes in.

yeah, honda recommends every 4 cylinder 5,000 miles between oil changes and 3,750 miles for V6's but dealerships rape you on "services" anyway so its always better to do it yourself

Correct, for the most part all Honda inline 4 use the same filter. The S2000 uses a slightly different size, but it would still fit.

Turn the key to the acc position then push the trip indicator till it reaches the oil life setting. Press and hold the button for about 10 or more seconds till it starts to blink, then depress then press and hold till it resets to 100%
