DIY- Cargo Cover
Stole this from a member on FitFreak
MDF thinnest I could find.
Mocked up some card board the size i wanted.
traced it to the mdf
trimmed the mdf
going to glue a support piece in the center ( unused part)
Plastidipped stock Emblem
just have to carpet it and install the emblem tomorrow.

Re: DIY- Cargo Cover
Cool setup, inexpensive and basic functionality, but here's a link in case anyone was wondering about the OEM cargo tray.
I wonder if you could rig one like yours with hinges and some method of doing a partial lift when the hatch goes up. Probably quite do-able so long as you have the patience to fit the fabric around the pieces.

No offense, that looks absolutely terrible. The emblem looks tacky. Even if it was black.
I can understand the concept, and you could make it look GOOD for the same price if you executed it a little better.

Re: DIY- Cargo Cover
I used denim as a cover material for something I was building, it's cheap, looks decent, feels soft and holds up to serious abuse and exposure to sun. Just a thought.
Keep up the DIY and cheapness boss.
