2008 Honda Fit maintenance manual
I need to get hold of a maintenance manual for the car, Haynes or Chiltons don't have one for it (yet?). Does Honda have one (don't need the full shop service manual) or other source on CD-ROM for the computer?

Most of the concerned Fit owners buy the Honda Fit Service Manual. To find out if there is any other manual available, call your local Honda dealer parts dept. or search on line at www.collegehillshonda.com or Bernardi parts.com

You stated that you're looking for a "maintenance manual" but no such thing exists. You have to buy the full shop manual. If you intend to work on your own car, it's worth it.

Thanks Targa- I figured that there was no other "maintenance manual", but was not positive so didn't say it. I fully agree- the Helm "Honda Fit Service Manual" is well worth the price.
garykf16- you may be able to find the shop manual at a reduced price if you search or post your interest on two other forums: www.hondafitforums.com, and www.fitfreak.net. Also, check on EbayMotors. I have seen many posts from people with wrecked Fits who are selling their used manuals as well as accessories and customizing parts.
Even if you go to the Helm Inc. web site and order the new Service Manual from them, the manual will pay for itself very quickly, and will keep you out of a lot of trouble by giving you immediate, and true, answers to your technical questions.
But, without spending any money at all, you can ask those same questions on car forums, wait months for answers, and wind up with pure bullshit that was made up by ignorant idiots. I hope that you can see how easy the choice is. Good luck!

Oddly enough, I just noticed that the '07 Fit service manual is only $57 while the '07-08 combined manual is $125, due to Helm lowering prices on all '07 and older manuals.
If you don't need the select information specific to the '08 model year (such as TPMS system troubleshooting), then you should go for the '07 book.
