The relay in question


Hi all,




I'm new to the forum and a relative unknown when it comes to all things car related.


I recently had an issue where a current was passing through my A/C Relay even though the ignition was off. As a test the auto electrician removed the relay. I've since bought a replacement relay and wanted to install it myself however when I've looked in the under hood relay box there are no empty spaces, as is the case with the fuse box located under the steering wheel.


Can someone help me find where it goes as I am at a loss and after a few weeks of net trawling I can't find a single thing helping me out. It's definitely removed from somewhere within my car as the air con is not blowing any air at all.


Help me it's hot in Australia, even with the windows down!!!!!

Look at the underside of the fuse box LID under the hood it has a diagram showing the locations of the relays. If I remember correctly it is one of the three large black ones on the top left side.

A/C System Circuit Diagram (Without ETCS)

According to this there are three relays for the A/C and they are in the under hood fuse box like I said.

If your interior blower fan doesn't blow, then that may be the blower fan relay that was pulled. That relay is covered and not visible in your picture of the interior fuse/relay box. There are more relays inside.

Thank you so much for your help. I have located it, the shown spot in the under steering wheel fuse box, and I now have air con!
