Default '08 - '09 Engine differences.

Found this over at fit freak. Sorry if this is a re-post. This section does not have much tech traffic anyways.

The differences are great.
Different rods and piston with different coatings,
"regular" sohc 16v vtec instead of the 12/16 vtec-e style,
the head has the header incorporated into it,
Plastic valve cover, Different intake manifold....

Wonder if it will live to be a performer?
I hope Kraftwerks will make a blower setup for the 09's.

I wonder how it will pull on the low end, and what kind of MPG they will be able to achieve.

The average speculation is that the mpg will be +1 better for the city and the hwy over the old fit.

The 09's are supposedly heavier but with a revised gear box and a different hp/tq delivery I'm guessing that it should be on par with the 08's.

The way the new head is will make for some clean turbo installs. All you will need is an adapter flange and a down pipe. No expensive manifold.
