My windshield has cracked. It's an isolated crack in the passenger side bottom corner that cannot spread anymore at this point. I think it looks like a manufacturer defect so I'm going to try and take it in this week. Anyone know if this could be a TSB issue?

Things I've noticed : fun to drive . View limited on shoulder checks.. . Lost all programmed radio stations- just driving along listening to the radio and pffft . Had to reprogram all stations (that was weird ). Time on clock was ok though. Also a very loud shuddering wind noise with drivers window open at highway speed. Able to cancel noise by propping arm in window just so....Reverse seems really herky jerky .

YEA i feel that alot...i thought i wasnt pushing the clutch down enough before taking it out of gear but your explination is much better

I'm going to have to agree with this guy. When I put it into reverse, I have to really let the clutch out slowly and be very gentle on the throttle to get smooth acceleration. If not, it's like riding a wild bull.

Mine did the same thing 4 days after taking delivery. It's a stress crack. They tried their best to find a rock chip and even looked at it mm by mm with a microntascope. While I was standing there laughing at them. "Told you it was a stress crack" I said.

Then they said it was probibly caused by being tied down too tightly on the ship.

Finally they agreed it was a stress crack and ordered me a new windshield which took about 1 week to arrive.

Take it to the dealership and get a new windshield.

I even went as far as to tell them I wanted a new windshield mine had bugs on it when I took it in after the windshield arrived. Just in case the service writer wasn't sure what I was there for...

One other thing that happened to my fit was the engine stalled a couple of times when I was stopped at a red light. It started right up after that so I didn't think it was a big deal

Does anyone notice how the DBW is reacting very slow?

I'm so used to precise shifting but the DBW made it so the engine still revs when I already let go the gas pedal..(1/2 or 1/10 second lags).

This lag make me feel "disconnected" to the Car.

I didn't know about this until I try to drive the Fit hard (close to rev-limiter)..
I hope Honda can re-flash the ECU or do something to make the DBW more responsive to my pedal..

I wonder if there's a simple way to convert back to mechanical..

I've noticed this as well. I'm still somewhat new to driving stick shift, but I can definitely feel a little hang up. But beleive me, it's no where as bad as the new Yaris and Corolla electronic throttle.

****, my windshield is cracked also. But i can see a tiny tiny little where the rock hit , i believe, but i cannot feel it on either side of the window. What is the difference between a stress crack and a rock causing a crack?

I'll guess that a stress crack isn't caused by something smashing into your window

hmm, i wonder if i can play it off as a stress crack. It really sucks only having the fit for 2 months and having to replace the windshield

nubi here, been out for a while, hope this is in the right place

i too have been nooticing a funky 1st to 2nd shift. i feels like i'm ripping it out of first into second. this has been going on for some time now as i have 24000 + on the car. at higher rpm's i don't notice it. tryed numerous things w/ the clutch including shifting faster, shifting slower, shifting at virtually every possibe rpm before 3400, etc. shifting right at vtec seems to be the most fluid for my fit...

I'm still having this "problem". I had the tech drive my car for a bunch of miles and he supposedly didn't feel anything.

maybe your just a wuss and dont wanna hit some vtak! shift higher and it feels better why in the world would you wanna shift at lower rpms where the car doesnt move.

Hmm, as of late, I have also noticed the crappy feeling 1-2 upshift, and it feels just like you descrived it, as if I'm "ripping? it out of gear. I guess we'll wait and see what happens. In other news, my last tank (30% Very hilly country roads, 50% Hwy, 20% city) yielded 41mpg.

I have had this happen a few times. I've also noticed that my shifter shakes (as if the shift linkage was up against the exhaust) in second.

Anyone here get the hesitation upon acceleration from a dead stop? Sort of feels like the AC is on... by that I mean I need to give the car more fuel to take off smooth.

I've been having this problem since day one and everytime I take it to the dealer it suddenly goes away. It's pretty annoying. It comes and goes at it pleases.

It almost feels like the car's going to die. I can feel the car shake and chatter.

It shouldn't be that way. Yesterday my car was driving 100% perfect. Today it's chattering away. I NEED to do something about this. It's so annoying. I couldn't imagine putting 100k miles on my car if I have to deal with all this clutch chatter from the factory.

Any help would be VERY VERY appreciated. Clutch chatter, clunky second gear, weird feeling going from 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd. WE NEED NEW TRANSMISSIONS!

i get the same thing going from 1st to 2nd too its kinda like it grinds itself in or like the syncro is spinning too hard or something IONO

and that feeling you had where the car felt like its going to die starting from a stop i got that a few times and i think it could be from the freakin heat
it might be retarding the car??? but i dont know

It's not the heat, I've had this problem in the winter and summer.

yeah my fit , manual, seems to hesitate when coming from stop, needs heavy pedal work to keep from wanting to die, then shift to 2nd is clunky and abrupt. i guessed that the acceleration from dead stop needed more gas due to the gearing and low power of the motor. and the 2nd gear shift was just the way the linkage was designed. but who knows. it is a bother but i have just learned to be more giving with the gas at stops and shift higher in rpms into 2nd, things dont seem so bad, i think we are just gonna have to live with it?

2nd gear I can live with. The accelerating from a stop part is a major pain in the ***. A car shouldn't feel that way.

If I would have known that, I would have bought an auto. I didn't really notice this during the test drive... only a few days after I bought it.

after buying a 97 integra gs (with most mods already installed), i loved that car , it was an auto, ill never go back to auto. manuals are cheaper, easier/cheaper to fix, and WAY more fun to drive
