Default will a 1997 CRV motor & automatic trans bolt right into a 1999 CRV?

I have a 1999 CRV w/auto trans 290K miles that has a bad motor.. I came across a 1997 CRV that runs/drives well but rotted out bad and has 100K miles less than the 1999. Will the motor/trans from the 1997 go right into the 1999? I know the 1997 has less HP but i am not concerned about that, I am looking for a quick swap to get the 1999 back up and running!

If not a direct swap, what would I need to switch out to do the swap?

Should be direct swap as long as both are the same trans. i.e manual > manual or auto > auto. Both are gen 1. 99 is technically a gen 1.5 but only because of the HP increase. Both are B series motors.

I noticed intakes etc are different. Will intake/sensors etc from 1997 go right into the 1999? thanks much for the help, I do not have the 1997 yet so I cant compare!

Best bet/surest way is probably to swap the motor WITH the harness from the 97.

The engine bay of both 97 crv and 99 crv are the same. Yes they should "go right into the 1999".

If I put a low compression motor with the high compression intake/injectors etc, will she run ok and not throw any codes?
