What's the best year CR-V to buy?
Looking to buy a used or new CR-V.
What's the best year to buy performance/reliability wise?
I really like the look of the 3rd gen CR-V but don't know how it compares to the older ones like the 2003-2006 models.
Will be using it for camping, fishing, biking and sometimes trailblazing to a secluded camping site.
Thanks!

First question you should ask if you want a Manual version or Auto.
Manual version in the US only came in 97-06 CRV
Second question you should ask your self is are you going to mod your CRV?
97-02 has the most mods avaible
02-06 has few mods that you can do as well
07+ is great more for cruzing through town and to the snow. since it has lower ground clearence its harder take off road.

My Opion I like the 2nd best because you can still get manual gear box and its K24 motor. Which you can grab all the mods from TSX, RSX, Accord, Element, Civic Si.

reliability wise its a Honda you can't go wrong. Just make sure if your buying use to check if they have maintance record and get the Car Fax.

Very very new to the CR-V's so that helps out a lot.
The 3rd gens are still expensive even used ones! Somehow I like the looks of those the best. Not thinking of modding at all.. just want to load it up and go do outdoorsy kinda stuff.

For the 1st Gen, you'd rather have the 99-01, as it has a little more power with the B20Z.
The 2nd Gens do have a K-series in them, so you do get some of the support from that engine market.
