Icon2 Key Questions

I have a 2007 AWD 5spd Element. I lost one of my keys and I am in need of a replacement. I was wondering if it was possible to get a key with the remote(lock/unlock buttons) built in? Possibly one from a different car that would work. Like an accord key or something. Any one ever done this? Let me know

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to program a new replacement key without taking my car to a dealer or a locksmith? I talked to a honda tech and he said he would come to me to do it but now I have lost touch with him.

Default Re: Key Questions

i'm sure that a local locksmiths that has the right equipments will be able to do you a replacement fob at a cheaper price compared to the dealer. i chose that option when i lost my key last year, i booked the job online through their website http://www.autokeysquad.com/book-appointment-2 im just not sure if they got other branch abroad. they provided me of a new remote key at £130 everything was inlcuded in that (VAT labour and programming) , concerning the possibility of programming a new key by yourself. im not so sure about it.. while the technician was programming mine he was using a pc, so i suppose you need some technological programmes for that? cheers!
