Icon4 Idle problem?

I am at the end of a head replacement on a 2000 CRV AWD with dual overhead cams. I started the engine and it fired right up, rpm went up to aprox. 1500 then down to 1000. after about 10 seconds the rpm started fluctuating between 1000 and 500. This was all while the car was in park. When I put it in gear it died. I can restart the car and get the same results, if I push on the accelerator the rpms go up like they should. When I drive the car it drives fine, until I let of the gas to brake when it will die. There are no check engine lights on. Can anyone help please?

Default Re: Idle problem?

You put a completely different head on?
Did you keep your old intake manifold or the one with the new head?

Sound like you could have the wrong IACV (idle air control valve) part numbers for the 5spd man tran IACV and the automatic IACV are different.
