I récently Bought a honda crv 2000 and runs fine but sometimes it wont start,like once a week then i wait about an hour and starts. Could it be the key ? The car only came with one key and when i look in the owners manuel it tells me the maintenance key . Can anbody help me ?

Is the engine hot or cold? Recent maintenance? Any noises? Come on Alex, when you are vague it makes it almost impossible to help you. I know you are a n00b and all but why do you expect people to read your mind?

The car runs fine ,it happend 3 times so far it cranks but wont start then i come back in a hour and it starts ,i have no idea what it is because it only happens once n a while and i dont do any different .the maintenance nothing that i know of since i only had the car for 2 weeks

is the vehicle hot or cold when it doesn't start?

this means, did you drive it around and it got to operating temperature and then when you stopped you tried starting it again and it wouldn't start?


You've got to learn basic troubleshooting or nobody can help you. so either give better information or take it to a mechanic.

Does it have the Check Engine light on?

c'mon dude, you can't just say "sometimes it don't start" and expect decent help. there could be a thousand things causing this you have to give details or it's just a wild goose chase.


next time it happens take note of as much information and come back to us because we can't send you in any direction with the information given.

I have a 2001 CRV, 239k miles, that will start only if I put gas pedal all the way down to floor. It won't start otherwise. It will warm up for 3-4 minutes at 1500 RPMs and when it goes down below 900ish RPM it immediately stalls / dies. It will restart and run for maybe 1 minute and repeat. Has anyone noticed the throttle / gas pedal situation with theirs starting?
