My drivers door wiring is going to ****. When the weather clears up a bit and I have some time I'm going to get in there and work on the connection between the door and the harness I've read a bit and saw that the wires on the pins eventually go to **** and need reworking.

I can open my door and juggle the harness to get the parts to work but it's annoying as hell.

Anyone else having this problem as I'll probably take pictures and do a little how to if you guys think it'll be helpful.

I've done it on a non honda using both crimp style butt connectors and soldering in some wire extensions, wasn't pleasant but it worked.

yeah that was the method I was thinking of using. A friend from the boat industry pointed me a while back to these glue filled butt connectors when I was doing audio in our boat. They aren't cheap but after you crimp you melt them with a heat gun and they form a water tight seal.


I was thinking of using those I supposed. I had the door off last spring when installing 16 guage speaker wire so maybe/hopefully I just never seated the plug correctly.

i too had this problem, had to rewire the whole thing cause couldnt find a new piece from the junk or anyone parting out a crv. power door locks stopped working, keyless entry remote stopped, and power windows stopped working.

I am going to tackle this problem this weekend because my auto locks arent working. How do you get space to work in there? Does the rubber boot need to be cut for access?

from what I've seen you'll probably need to take the door off to really get at it. I'm going to try and hopefully get after it this Sunday. I'm pretty bad at taking pictures but i'll try and get as many as possible.

if you peel the rubber back from the plug you can see where it disconnects.

It was a fu**ing pain in the ***. I had 2 wires that broke off at the pins. What I did was unbolt the bottom plastic fender cover, reached in and moved the connector back into the chassis. Unbolted the screw holding up one of the main relays and wiggled it around so I can actually get to the pins, de-pin them and re-solder them back. Then put it back together and hope that it worked...lucky it did!
