A/C Problem.
Long story short. just purchased a 2003 element ex model. automatic 2wd. ac was not working took it to my local mechanic. he told me i have some sort of electrical problem. said the computer is not giving or recieving the proper signal it needs to turn the ac on. air blows fine , its just hot air. heat works fine. but no cold air. he replaced the fuse box thinking it might be it but nothing.checked relays and fuses , all are fine.. said when he grounded the wire for the thermo switch the ac kicked on and was blowing cold so he said as far as the compressor and things of that sort are in working order..he told me it its either the ac control panel or the ecu. any help would be appreicated.

No it's most likely the A/C compressor that needs replacing. We just had a civic at my shop last week with the A/C not working and it was the compressor, and we had to do the same thing, we changed the compressor and it worked fine after that.
You could try changing just the thermo switch first on top of the compressor, as that's a common problem with civics and EL's of the same years as your element.
