ok 98 crv running fine lights on dash flicker engine cuts out than runs fine for 2 days. driving and poof engine quits no lights in dash. ok found gear **** by pass. still wouldn't start in neutral. i have break lights and a horn and have physically checked each fuse under hood and under dash. now for the fun part i plugged in my code reader and presto it starts, dies when you remove it. i guessing a fusible link under dash as every thing under hood has power. any ideas?

If the car starts and runs with the code reader, then the code reader is probably supply the ground to the PCM.

Check ground G101 connection and the wires to the bolt at the thermostat housing.

thx that helped a pic is worth a billion words lol. that makes sense i just put a new thermostat in bet i munched a wire.

A lot of people either forget to reattach it or did not tighten it.
