3 New Starters Grind on my Elemenet. HELP
Hey guys new to the forum here. I am replacing the starter in my 05 Element LX 2wd....
I have thrown three reman starters at it, from Autozone Napa, and Car Quest. All Grinds while cranking. I decided to put the old starter in as it was an intermintant issue, cranks fine. Before I drop the 400 on the factory new started I am hoping someone may have advise for me.
The Autozona started had the outside solenoind as the other two look identical to the one I removed. I have pulled the starter out and replaced it probably 10 times this weekend. Is it just my honda saying get that aftermarket crap out of me?
I would like to think it is something I am doing wrong, I did wrend on Hondas professional for about 5 years, so I feel like I know my way around it, and the fact that old starter is fine. I just am not about the put the intake back on and ship it with a bad starter. Sorry to ramble, frustraded as you can imagine.

Hey guys, see a bunch of ya looked here but no responses. Wanted to provide an update.
Bit the bullet and got a facotry starter, and no grind! Reman from Autozone, Napa and car quest all grind. Would not be the first time I have seen Honda be picky with parts but a starter....
Anyhow, wanted to get this out there in case anyone else runs into the issue. Thanks for your time.

Good to see you got it fixed. My guess would have been that the teeth on the flywheel could have been worn down if the gear on the starter was fine.
