New tires 1st gen

New tires 1st gen
I have a 97 crv 5speed thats totally stock. The tires are dry rotted and i top them off weekly. I live in Denmark so my tire choices are limited by avaliability and price. I will buy 215/75/15 tires to replace the tiny 205/70s. I have researched all weekend and have concluded the 215/75 will work fine on the stock 10spoke wheels.
My choices are between the BFG AT KO. The General Grabber AT. And Toyo Open Country AT. I have run bfgs before and loved them. But i lived in Florida USA then. No snow. Now i need an all season tire that can handle light snows a few times a year.
I want the most aggressive looking tire avaliable and i think thats the BFG. But what do you expierenced CRVers thibk? Thanks.

BFG All Terrains are about the worst tire I've ever seen in snow, they look like they'd be good but they're not, they just plug up with snow, they're also ridiculously hard, so while lasting forever they perform horribly on ice. Also, smaller narrow tires work much better in snow than something big and wide.

Re: New tires 1st gen
I've got BFG all terrains on my 95 s10 blazer and it will not get stuck in the snow. I absolutely love them. I've never had them on anything other then that tho

Thanks for the replies. After looking at the tire websites i see BFG has 2 different ATs. One listed as summer tires. One listed as all season tires. Im assuming it was the same insides and tread but different rubber compounds at the surface?.?.
I can break it down like this. The BFFs are the most expensive of the bunch. I know them and have used them in Florida so im comfortable with em.
Theres the toyo ATs that ive been told are super tires but that was or sizes in the 35-40 inch range. Im sure the 27inch are alot different in footprint.
Then theres tbe General tire Grabber AT. Not the one that looks like the bfg at tho. Ita more a street tire w a chunky tread. Its middle priced but i cant find much about them...
Then the cheepest tire im willing to try is a Cooper Discoverer ATR. Again, more a street tread. I have heard good thinhs about Cooper in recent years but they never had tires in my needed 39" size for my old Dodge Ram so i never considered them.
I like the look of the 1st gen crv in white on here with bfg at tires and lift wheels etc. But my wife will drive the car too so it has to be safe and reliable.
All in all, Denmark is an expensive place to have the offroad hobbie. This used crv cost me about $9,000. its in great shape but thats expensive for any used car. It was one of the cheepest i found that wasnt a vw polo or worn out ford ka or fiesta. Lol. I also pay about $1200 usd a year just for tags to drive the suv. They consider is excessive here so they hammer suv drivers with taxes. But i do like this little crv. Seems like a good trustworthy car.
