Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
im using obx for almost 2yrs now, no problem so far...!
just check the flende when you order it, one issue that i saw
was its the other way around, yo have to modifyfy(redrill) the
holes..worst you would re fit it or re do the welding of the flange...
good luck!
btw, you couls modify any B series headers to make it work for 4wd Vs.. i think
someone modified a DC headers...

I was thinking if this was for a 4wd crv get this downpipe. Find a used DCs or some b series header that is two peiece and put it on this downpipe that would probably work too. Might save me some money and be just as good.
Or i know someone that would help me reweld a regular b series header dont know exactly what i am going to do..
Thanks for all the help.

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
heres to give you an idea......
a regular B series headers would just have a straight pipe...
the curved pipe was done for 4wd Vs to clear the prop shaft
underneath...
if you have a local exhaust shop nearby, you could ask them for
a quote on how much to modify the headers to clear the shaft...
then decide if its much cheaper to do that or buy the obx one...
g/l!

you'll need bread knofe to pry out the clips on the top of the
whole vent.. it comes along with the whole center vent..
most of the time, the connection on the oins of the clock looses
after certain time.. it needs to be resoldered, most of the time thats
the case and soldering is the solution.. lmk, good luck!

Do you know of any mods for beefing up the drivetrain on our V's?

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
I'd stay away from OBX. Had a header of theirs on my Accord and the flange where the two pieces meet warped within 1 year and was leaking so bad it made my CEL turn on.

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
it serves me well...the only issue that was common recently was the flange that goes
to the exhaust port was misplaced or on the other way around..
as far as the design or where they copy it, its good..i think its from comptech headers,
so most "bad" experience/s isnt really that much compared to some "ebay" parts... i guess
it varies or some of us just get lucky..also headers for gen.1 crvs isnt a common thing,
they have to modify or fabricate it specially for crv-4wd variant if i may say.. it wasnt
mass produce..
im not rooting for obx products its just my share...

i couldnt say obx' craftmanship is bad or good.. but in my experience w/ the product,
it serves me well...the only issue that was common recently was the flange that goes

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
I would go with the DC Sports one the guy is selling on here. DC Sports is second only to Comptech and Bisi. However, their quality has gone down a bit since AEM sold them to APC.

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
its a hit or miss on obx..i just got lucky, i think!? i ordered my w/ the complete
exhaust system..they fabricated me when i ordered it, its like i was one of the
first person to order them a set since they stopped making stuff for crv, i got
a good deal too.. paid 350 for all!(shipped) anyway, i really needed a headers
and exhaust that time, i have a leak on mine and repairing it would cost half of
buying it..so i grabbed the opportunity...
i would go w/ hytech replica style headers and try to mod it for our Vs, ive seen
good results w/ that headers or if you could get one of those rmf style headers,
its much easier to mod it to fit for our Vs since it has longer secondaries than
hytech..more torque too! ive used rmf style in my civic and most of my friends uses
hytech so i had the chance of comparing it....
good luck!
**since someone selling a modded dc headers, ill grab hat one too rather than trying
to mod one for yourself, good thing somebody did the job..LOL!

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
Yup, torque was dead on. Honestly, when I get another header sometime I will be going with Megan Racing. Rarely ever do I hear bad things about their products.
OBX really just doesn't make good consistent products - it is hit or miss. They make LSD's for 5th gen Accords and I would guess 95% of the posts about them include pictures of them destroyed. One guy went through 4 before he had a decent one. I'll never purchase another one of their products again. You always hear people say you get what you pay for, which is true. It is much moe expensive to get a crappy part only to have to replace it with a quality part.

Re: 1st Gen CR-V HEADER..
posted here too.. you might as well go w/ dc, coz idk what other headers could be
easily modded to fit our 4wd crvs..
good luck!
