1999 crv transmission issue... someone's gotta know!!
Hey there.
So I bought my gf a 1999 crv awd and I bought knowingly it having transmission problems. I thought I was buying it for cheap and doing a transmission swap but I don't believe the trannys pooches. The fluid smells good and all and I can shift it from 1 to 2 to (d) drive... but my issue is if I put it into drive off the bat it seems to shift right into 4th. I'm gonna start at the shift solenoid first and test it to see if it's causing it. Somethings shifting it to the highest gear but what.
Thanks guys .

Does it stall out when you come to a stop with it in OverDrive? If so most likely the TCC is sticking engaged.

No it stays at a normal idle where it should be just puts it into 4th in drive I tried it in overdrive and not and same issue for both. Only thing that would make sense to me is the shift solenoid being stuck and it opening to shift up. I couldn't see it being the computer telling it to either. I do have a engine code when I get home from up north working I'm going to put a scanner on it and see what code it's throwing... my luck it won't have anything to do with the problem... so typical
