Default 02 CRV AWD Rear Axle / Hub Removal?

Hi All,

Well I decided to give it a shot. I'm attempting to replace a rear passenger wheel bearing on my 02 AWD CRV.

My question is how do you remove the rear axle from the differential without taking the entire hub assembly off. It appears there are 3 bolts that hold the entire hub assembly to the control arms however I'm concerned the nuts will snap as they appear to be seized in the bushings. This happened to me previously trying to change a strut on an 02 civic so I'm hoping there's a way to just remove the axle from the differential "perhaps c-clip" at which point I can pull out the hub and press out / in the bearing as I have the tool to do so.

Also how can I remove the ABS sensor as it appears to be seized in the housing? Looks like it's already broken as the ABS light came on possibly due to the screw snaping when attempting to remove it. Not sure if the screw acts as a ground for it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

i think its the same as the first gen crv's. Its really easy to dissconnect the rear differential. try that to get the axle out.
