I'm a more frequent poster over at hondasuv, but I thought I'd share some photos of my build here and ask for some help. My CRV is in the shop in NJ getting the Colorado Mountain Rally 2" lift installed. The rear went fine, but they are having a hard time getting the alignment to go back to spec on the front. I'm not sure how hard they are trying, but they say that adjustable lower control arms would fix the issue. I don't think that these exist, but you guys would probably know better than me. Also - I see this lift on plenty of other CR-V's - did you guys not have this problem? Any general tips on getting the front alignment done, like tricks to get more play out of it? Right now the vibration is so bad it's not driveable.
I got the rig back today - they couldn't change anything with caster so I'm 1.1 deg on the left and 0.1 deg on the right. That seems bad to me. At least everything else is in spec.
The vehicle has a bad front end shudder/shimmy/shake from 35-50 mph, worst, absolute worst, at 45 mph - like, empty can came out of the center cupholder bad. Below than and above that it feels close to normal. There is an occasional popping ping noise that sounds like a broken sway bar end link when you turn slowly or go slowly over bumps. I had vibration at around that speed before I brought it in so I'm optimistic that I can fix this. The first things I want to do are new sway bar links (they have 75K on them, they are the moog greasable but I didn't grease them as often as I should) and new tie rod end links. If anyone has any idea I'd be very appreciative. Either going to drive this thing long distance here in the next few weeks, or four wheel dolly it behind the uhaul when we move if I don't trust it, which I'm kind of on the fence about at the moment.
The back looks like it sits kind of high. Per their website, CMR fixed this already by reducing the size of the rear blocks. I can't imagine how it looked before. No response to an email sent to CMR yet.

do you guys think I could fit 225/75/15's on a stock height (for now) rd1. I know it would take some hammering and some cutting, I know some guys run 215/75/15, would the extra 10 millimeters make a huge difference when it comes to fitment?

Nice i just bought a set for 50 just rims and trying to order everything, do you also have 1" spacer on the back , i want mines to pretty much all sticking out the same amount , any side pics on how much it stick out
Is 3" lift too much for a Gen2 CR-V?
I want strut blocks for a lift so I can keep my stock springs.
I like the Colorado Mountain Rally 2" lift blocks. They look top quality but at $500 for just the lift and no alignment parts.... Man it's kinda high priced.
I like the Honda Element CCM 3" lift that comes with the cam bolts & adjustable control arms @ $500. BUT... I've heard some ppl say it's too much for the front CV joints and/or CV boots. Also I'm still not 100% about it being compatible with Installing it on a CR-V
Got my 225/70-16 on stock rims. No rub at all, bit in major need of lift to look right.
Just for reference I reiceved a response from CMR about their Gen2 lift. They say.....
"The actual height of the Gen 2 CRV lift blocks is 1.640" for both the front and rear."
So it appears they still haven't corrected their rear height issues becuase, (from everything I've read) having a 1.64" block in the rear would be equivalent to a 4" lift. 1.64" up front should be right at 2" though.
The 3" Lift kit that CCM made for the Honda Element. The response they gave me to their actual lift block size...
"The spacers are Front 2 3/8" and the rear is 1 1/4". These will lift the vehicle 3"."
Reason I keep bringing up CCM's Honda Element lift is that I read the Element and 2002-2006 CR-V share the same drivetrain and chassis. I find ppl that say they are compatible, but can't find out 100% for certain.
I don't necessarily want to spend $500 just to find out, but I may have too. Problem is no kit is really ideal. I think 3" is probably too much up front, but I have 1" of sag in the rear as is. 2" would be awesome up front, but 4" in the rear is overkill. If only I could buy half the kits. 2" up front and 3" rear would be perfect for me.
I made a mistake on the wheels and now it's sticking out more than what I like it to be.
This needs a bit of boost to haul this tires.
Saving up some money for boost.

I really enjoyed your over view of your CRV. It was nice to hear you explain the differences. You've added some nice touches.
I thought your comments on the fender and rear window mirror as well as the interior grab handles and wood grain where absolutely hilarious. I love your honesty!
