Re: CRV ****
Have spent some serious time researching options for the '98 V..
Along the way, I collected hundreds of photos of V's I liked, pictures that were cool etc...
I recently separated all the vehicle shots from the technical diagrams, notes etc...And ended up with a bunch of just cool V shots. I use this folder as my screensaver now, motivates me to get out and tinker.
For those that would like a cool V screensaver, I include my CRV **** folder for your perusal.
A lot of these pics you will recognize (Heck, it might even be your own
To fellow V tinkerer's, I salute you

Hello. I'm working my way through this thread but only got through the first 10 or 20 pages before I had to register and ask...
any '06 have a lift? Haven't really been able to find many even with a google image search.
I'm hoping to start tackling mine soon but still in the planning phase.
(I am definitely going to go back & meticulously read the entire thread, I promise... but like I said, I got antsy)

Okay, disregard my last post. I found one.
Anyone care to advise me on a good plan of attack? I have an '06 which I think I'd like to lift .75" or so in the front and 1.5" or so in the rear? I want a bit of lift and to correct some rear sag without going too high.
Just ordered Bilstein HD struts for all 4. Next, are springs?
OME only have em in the rear for an '06, Ironman doesn't even make em for gen2. I'm waiting to hear back from Dobinson USA about what I'm expecting to be limited options but at least they have em for both front and rear (Rocky Road has em listed as available for a hefty shipping charge from the outback).
I can only guess why 2nd Gen's have rear only lift springs and it made me think that lifting front less than rear might help to balance it out.
Sorry, I'm a newb, but this thread is so long I might have to clear my schedule for a few days to get through it.

Re: *Official H/T OFFROAD/LIFTED CR-V thread!*
Thank you blue.
Its AWD.
I still don't understand why a few coil spring manufacturers only recommend rear coil springs for an '06?
Update:
Dobinson's got back to me. They'll have to order from Australia because there's no stock in the US for em and they're 1.5" (40mm) & in front & rear (just like what Rocky Road has),
except Dobinson's shipping is $194 and Rocky Road's is $50. So Rocky Rd it is! Just ordered them!
I asked if they could cut the fronts down 1/2". Doubt they will, but since its coming direct from the Dobinson manufacturer I figured it was worth asking.
Now I gotta find 1/2" spacers for the rear & CMR's all out. Anyone know where I can find a pair (1/2" rear spacers for an '06)?
Trying to get all my ducks in a row now so whenever the springs arrive I'll be all set for a weekend project.
Its AWD.

That would be great! Thank you so much! Let me know whenever they arrive in case I haven't already found some elsewhere.
I'll be psyched to see another Gen 2 V in here since we'll make up just about 1/2 of them in here. I haven't even finished reading this entire thread but it was enough to convince me to wholeheartedly go for it.
Have you decided what you're doing for tires/rims?

Ugh... I can't wait to be a full member and get a bigger than 5 message mailbox.
Thanks again man. Just sent you my address.
I'm also planning on getting the general grabber AT2's & am also sticking with stock OEM rims.
Initially I thought I wanted to go max at 225/75/16 or 225/70/16, but after hearing about the gas mileage drops & given that it's my daily driver, maybe 215/70/16 will do me fine? Maybe 215/75/16? I dunno.
I also tend to zip around at a minimum of 75mph on the highways regularly & don't want to deal with excessive wobble.
From what I've read, Generals are great in snow and are less expensive that BFG KO2's- which are also appealing.
How long ago did you order your Dobinsons?

2nd Gens, keep reading the thread and you'll get to the difficulties I had. RR outfitters refunded my money after a 2 month wait and no confirmation that Davison would even send the springs. OME doesn't make lifts for 2nd Gen. I ultimately went with spacers from CMR which prompted them to rethink their whole 2nd Gen approach reccomending adjustable coil overs to drop their over lifted spacers. In retrospect I'm not sure which way I should have gone. I love the results, but getting there's a b#%€h on the 2nd Gen.

RR told me it'll take 2-3 weeks, so we'll see.
Now I just have to debate whether to blow more money on new upper strut mounts for all this new stuff to the tune of another $150- or just use the parts already in there. Ugh... yeah, its a b!†¢h alright. But I can't wait for it to happen

Re: *Official H/T OFFROAD/LIFTED CR-V thread!*
Thanks for the help Genethemean. FINALLY got the parts in after an over 2 month wait from CMR. They simply forgot to ship the rear adjusters and had to be prodded and threatened to send them. After install ride is stiffer but def higher and I need bigger knobby tires for look completion! Significant difference in visibility and getting into car. I'm 5'10" and almost stepping UP into the car rather than sitting down which is nice. The whole reason behind the lift, other than vanity, is that I am moving cross country with a fully loaded car, safari rack and cruiser bike on the back. AND a road bike on the rear wheel. :-) Poor little CRV springs were maximally compressed when I cranked the bike on the slickwheelie last time so I had to make an extra 10 hr round trip 2 weeks ago that sucked... And got cold overnight on the bike. After my shop contacted CMR (They replied in 2 days) sounds like I should have an extra 800lb load capacity. Pretty excited to make my next trip in 1 go next month since it will be 10 hrs 1 way.
I'll snap photos of the fully loaded CRV towing a 600lb cruiser, roadbike, and loaded safari box in a few weeks.. before the trip... since I may not make it over the Alleghenies in once piece. Hopefully overdrive and babying it will not blow my brakes and tranny.. or send me over a cliff. Powerwise I do not forsee a problem other than getting honked at for going slow :-) Still had plenty of emergency pep left in the little four banger. And no problem breaking under normal conditions.
Before unloaded...

After unloaded...
After unloaded... CMR 2" spacers and rear adjustment kit.

Here's the most representative view. I was kind of concerned about the hood flying off since it was a little wobbly but I only drove it one highway exit. Perhaps it was simply not closed all the way. Also it may have affected the spray angle of the wipers.... but I think I'm just being paranoid.

Looks awesome! What are you thinking for tires?
Too bad CMR's 1/2" rear lift's sold out... and that they're so easy to get ahold of.

Hi I would like to do the same wheel setup to my crv . do I have to lift the crv for this set up? do the wheels rub ? Please any and all info would be great . rims size offset tires size so on.

Re: *Official H/T OFFROAD/LIFTED CR-V thread!*
Yes you need a lift, no the wheels don't rub with the right spacers. All the rim and tire info is in the post you quoted.
Berz out.

Decided to bring mine into Honda for a thorough diagnostic/check-up before moving forward. Looks like I'll be replacing my front end ball joints (even though they said I only need boot covers, ha!), sway-bar links & rotors. I ordered everything but the rotors. Not sure whether to stick with OEM or not. Maybe EBCs, I don't know. I'm open to recommendations.
Regardless, this lift/overhaul will be the perfect time to swap out all the rest. Just waiting on the springs. I'm going with the 1/2" cutting board technique for the rear end (thank you 2nd Gen for the template!).
I also installed a K&N filter & I'm pretty blown away by the improvement. Though the old one was due to be changed, so.
Right, for the grabber AT2's. Dunno where I got 225/70/16, might've been one of the dozens of different tires I looked into that day, but not the AT2s
