Well... My CRV definitely surprised me last night when I had to trailer my drag car to the new owner. I didnt do too bad at all! I wouldn't recommend doing it all the time but it really wasn't as bad of a struggle as I thought it would be. Having hydraulic trailer brakes definitely helped though.

Haha I dont ever want to hate speed bumps or potholes in any daily driver I have. I am thinkin about putting this up for sale and getting a Ridgeline. Something a little more comfortable and useful. I would really hate the fuel mileage though.

COULD NOT WAIT.
I could not wait any longer on my lift springs. OME does not make a rear spring for a second generation CRV so I ordered the Davison springs also from Australia. It's been two months and they're still waiting to be shipped from Australia. Rocky road outfitters kindly refunded me and I placed an order withColorado Mountain rally for their 2 inch spacers all around. I've been sitting on these beautiful wheels and tires and just had to get some satisfaction, so I had them mounted today with 7 mm spacers. Only one or two little rubs in the back when I hit a bump and was loaded down with the old wheels and tires. The ride is quieter and smoother than the factory tires. I can live with this until the lift comes in. Name: image.jpg

Nice. Lovin' that copper color. Black wheels look good too.

I'm making my own spacers later today (after midnight now, so yeah... later today.) and hopefully installing my new front struts.

I have some before pics I took today, and I'll take more some after I install the spacers.

Screw that. I'd rather put $400 towards new tires. So I did, and just got my General Grabber AT2's on the V today, 215 / 75 / 15 (factory stock is 205 70 15, if you're wondering). Fit perfectly on stock rims with the new shocks/springs, but you do have to bend the metal tab/fin located on the frame in the rear wheel well flat so they wont rub.
Yeah the CMR kit does cost some money. When it was all said and done on mine, I put about 2-2.5K into it... This was wheels, tires, lift, new rear struts, new front rotors, brakes, and labor. I did a few things myself as well...

More than I wanted to spend but then I got to thinking. My wife has had the car for 14+ years (2001 CRV) and the only problems it has had was that I had to put a new 200 dollar radiator in it and an 80 dollar power window motor. I believe the plugs have only been changed once (@149K). IF I were to go buy or lease a newer car, I would spend that and more in payments for the entire year so why not.... And I don't regret it at all... My alignment still isn't great and the rear sags just a little but I love it. I hated this car when my wife had it and now I'm really enjoying it.

I feel ya. I always throw at least a grand or two into repairs and upgrades.

Bought my V in November, and so far I have replaced almost everything except the motor.

This is pre-spacers with only General Grabber AT2 tires and new springs. Tires themselves raised it about 1".

And.. I'm missing a reflector. Anyone have a spare?

Spring compressor kit just came in today, so I will get spacers installed on my next day off.

Bought a pair of 3mm hubcentric wheel spacers, put them on, then decided against using them. If anyone wants them, PM me. I accept Paypal.

I posted all my specs on page 58 of this post. As above however I canceled my order for the springs and I'm going with Colorado Mountain rally 2 inch spacers will be in Monday. I didnt need the spacer in the front wheels for the brakes to clear the rims but I put them on anyway. When I put the wheels I noticed one of my shocks in the back was leaking so I'll probably replace those also when I add the lift.

Thank you 4cylfiend. I take that as a compliment from you. I'm also impressed with your civic running in the tens. Are you getting all that horsepower from forced induction only or do you run a little spray?

I'm jealous of those springs. My CMR spacers are coming in tomorrow but I would rather have springs. Did you get the OME shocks, I don't think they are necessary. Good luck with the install give us pics.

Thank you! That's what I thought but on the ome site under crv there was some ome coil part number. so I decided to start typing those numbers in and found a few site that sells that sell them. SierraExpeditions.com was were I bought them from. I first gave them a call to make sure they have them in stock or could be ordered before I place an order. For any who is looking for OME coil spring for crv 97-01 the part number are on the box.
OME2797 for the front
OME2798 for the rear

For any one who is look OME coil springs just type in

New to site. I just bought my 4th V its a 2000 and it will be the first one I've lifted.
Found great info in here, just a questions on alignment. Are camber kits needed? Rear lower arm mods? If so which ones are working for you guys? Thanks. FNG on page.

As you will see on this site most people do not need the rear camber kit. The CRV comes with a little extra either positive or negative camber I'm not sure, but the lift tends to correct this and bring it closer to zero if anything. If you lift greater than 2 inches you may start to get more problems with the front end at that point I think theColorado mountain rally camber kit is probably more needed. All that said I dropped off my V this morning to have the CMR 2 inch spacers installed and I did give them a rear adjustable control arm just in case. I would recommend reading this thread I know it's 61 pages now I would recommend taking notes as you go to avoid having to go back and refresh your memory. You and many others have said there is a lot of good information accumulated here. There is one other thread that also has a lot of good information. Post pictures along the way and ask for input, everyone's willing to give their two cents worth.

In regards to tires...

225/75/15 or 215/75/15 - for stock rims and/or generic steel rims?

Which do you prefer? Additional equipment needed to mount the 225 over 215?

I believe people have said 225's will cause a bit of rubbing, so you may have to shave your wheel well fenders. I am running 215/75/15's on stock wheels and I have only rubbed once since I've had them. The only thing I have done is upgrade my shocks and springs to OE height. I am getting a lift because with a lot of weight in the back they get pretty close to rubbing.

Edit: Use this visual tire size calculator to get an idea http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tir...5r15-215-75r15

Edit #2: This info is in reference to a Gen1, which is what I own. I have not kept up with any info on a Gen2.

rego, do you have any lift (springs, spacers, etc) installed, or is that lift from just the tires?

Nice. I actually made custom spacers. But then realized I would have to get extended top mount bolts... So I went ahead and just bought custom springs since I would have to pull the springs anyways to replace the bolts. Waiting on a decent/hopefully warm day to get them installed.

here's my lifted CRV. I've had a lot of fun in it. It's been through a lot. swapped the motor and clutch. went through several motor mounts and axles from off roading and bottoming out the motor on the ground. I would drive it anywhere and not worry about scratches, dents or dings.
