Y8 O2 Sensor
I swapped a Y8 into my 90 si. My engine light is always on. The guys that did the swap say it's the O2 sensor. Could that be the problem?

Re: (CroSi)
WTF?? these people who swapped in your engine are kinda flaky if you ask me.. when we do motor swaps they don't leave the shop with check engine lights or leaking gaskets.. whether the customer needs the car or not.. we won't let them drive something that could potentionaly be a hazard to you or someone else. If you ask me, take it back have them fix it and call it a day.. it was there reasonablity to make sure its running "correctly" and its not with a CEL. If it need a o2, then they can charge you for the part and the labor, but it should have been brought up and fixed

So, you would choose to overcharge your customer rather than have them approve your repair costs?
Who's the flake?
The problem is the O2 heater circuit. It's a code 41. We've checked the wiring as correct as per everything posted by reputable members such as StorminMatt, thus signifying a problem with the O2. Hardly a problem that could potentially endanger a customer... *sigh* It doesn't even put the computer in b/u mode.
We charged him a flat rate for the entire swap and OBDI conversion. No further costs were suggested or incurred. We weren't paid to fix his car, we were paid to install the engine in whatever condition it was in and convert to OBDI. The man's on a budget.

Re: (raene)
o2 heater circuit is a recurring problem I have seen with a lot of Hondas. I too had the same issue after I did my OBDI conversion, just had to try a couple of O2 sensors, before I found one that worked (I am talking used ones here). Otherwise, just go to your local parts store and pick up an NTK, much cheaper than OEM and work as well.
