wth is going on?
ok im having a issue with car dieing. and cat figure it out to save my life.heres some test ive done.
test 1-driving down road running 45mph (on road by myself) and punch the brakes and car nose dives and BAM it dies. but only slowed to around 30mph.so coming to a stop has nothing to do with it...i think
-test 2- driving down road running 30mph and put car in neutral and let it coast to a stop without ever touching the brake pedal...woohooo car stays running just took a mile to stop.lol
-test 3- driving down road running 30mph and use e-brake to slow car to stop and it doesnt die.
test 4- driving down road running 10mph and come to normal stop and it dies.
any ideas?

Re: wth is going on?
ok definitely not battery or alternator. battery has 12v and alternator has been tested out of car and in car and is putting out 13.5v...plus after it dies it cranks fast and starts back up immediately.
will try and check for vacuum leak around booster when i get home tonight. wish i had a vacuum gauge that i could watch while driving and see what the effects are when braking.might even try to cap off intake and eliminate brake booster and drive ol' manual brakes just to see what happens.

ok made a trip home at lunch and did a few more tests.
test 5- blocked off brake booster...same result car dies upon sudden stop.
test 6- went back and disconnect tps sensor...same result dies upon sudden stop.

Re: wth is going on?
all this bad info on this thread its nothing to do with the intake. its electrical problems hes having
first check your grounds that they are bolted down, clean and tight
check your positive batt cable to make sure is making a clean and secure connection from battery to fusebox
check your fuse for the battery make sure the two screws are tight
your problems seems to be caused by inertia when your brake so loose wiring is your problem not some vaccum leak

Re: wth is going on?
One way the car stalls is if there is a leak in the brake booster, either by a blockage of the vacuum hose or a cracked, ruptured or leaking diaphragm. Another is the master cylinder leaking brake fluid, either internally or externally from the cylinder boot. Stalling can also happen if there is a brake line obstruction, either by a chunk of rust or a pinched brake line. Air in the brake fluid from a hole in the system can prevent proper pressure to the brakes.

Re: wth is going on?
battery connections are clean and tight. i have a brand new negative cable from battery to side of transmission housing. then i have a 10ga wire from negative to passenger shock tower which ive wiz-wheeled and got clean. do i need any other grounds?
i see you said check fuse for battery to make sure 2 screws are tight...this is news to me. im assuming thats in the fuse compartment under the hood. never seen/heard of a battery fuse.
i also agree it has something to do with inertia when braking. just thats where im lost at.
during all this testing ive burned about half a tank of gas. think fuel pick could have something to do with it? i bleed the the fuel system when i started the motor up at the fuel filter using the screw at top of filter.
idle is about 1500 in closed loop and drops to around 800 when open loop and warm

Re: wth is going on?
Is your harness cut up at all? I used to own a crx that did that. There are three green wires in the engine bay that go together. Mine kept falling apart. Soldered them and it never happened again

Re: wth is going on?
My buddy of mine had this problem before people were telling him it were the starter getting gunk up that he had to replace a alternator. It kind of hard when not testing the vehicle.

Re: wth is going on?
ok here a rather good update. i called previous owner and started asking questions about the problem im having. turns out he had same problem but failed to mention it. good news i figured out fix. once car drops to half tank or below it has problems...so i took car and filled tank and sure enough it fixed it. he said when he bought the car it wasnt running and he installed new fuel pump (bought off line) and it has acted this way since he started driving it.
any ideas what could cause it? i havent had time to pull pump out and look at it.
