Default Wiring Guage lights to dimmer switch?

Well i wanted to wire up my boost and oil pressure guage to dim with the dash lights, or to there own dimmer switch, the problem is I can't find any automotive dimmer switches or figure out which wire to tap in off of the dimmer switch, I saw 3 wires in the wire diagram i assume one is 12v in, one would be the reduced current going out and the third is the ground...correct, which is the line out? anyone have any help or places to get a dimmer switch???

I would like to know the answer to this as well!

I always just wire them up to come on with the lights, through the accessory ports in the fuse box. It would be nice to have them dim with the dash!

wire the positive line for the light to one of the lines leading to the lights that dim.

ie: find the positive wire for your dashlights/climate control lights and tap it into that.

I was hoping to just tap off the switch since it is right next to my guages but if no i could always wire it off the radio dimmer wire since I know where that is

I'd honestly like to set them up off there own dimmer switch and i swear i saw some at the auto parts store but last time i went i couldn't find them

you could hook it up to the dimmer switch, as long as you know which wire is which. it would be a whole lot cheaper than buying something

Yea it would but I think the Guage lights may be a lot brighter than the dash light so if on the same dimmer they may not equal out correctlybut I may be worng....

Right now i'd be happy if someone knew which wire to tap in, looks like i'll pull out the test light and figure it out tonight...i can't believe no one else has done this before? I didn't have time to test wires the other night and the manual wasn't very usefull figured someone would know

Thanks guys for the input, I was looking at that diagram last night trying to figure out which wire to tap in...red or red/black

but the more I think about it I think the red wire is it since it list all the dash lights and everything controlled by the dimmer right there, I think i may have been thinking about it to hard...I am going to try this tonight I'll let you guys know how it works

I tapped into the red wire on my 94 civic and my guage lights are bright when my cluster lights are dim. Has anyone else had this problem?
