Default weird stuttering and idle problem.

ok guys im a new poster to this site so be nice

but my car has this stuttering problem where when i go WOT below 3k rpms it starts doing it... only when the car is warm, and i've held it to 4k rpms so i assume it could keep going untill redline. but on the other hand, if i ease into WOT after 3k rpms, its fine.

i have a 91 crx w/ mpfi swap with a6 parts and pm6, 4-1 header, trust exhaust, brand new o2 sensor, ghetto intake (for now) without a hose thing coming from the v/c to the intake tube.

parts i've replaced so far:
o2 sensor
plug wires
switched ignitors with a known working one
replacing plugs today

and as for the idle problem, the idle will sit at 2k rpms when cold, the bounce (by bounce i mean rev up, then down, up down, etc) between 500-1500 sometimes up to 2000. and when it seems to sit normal after it warms up, it sits at 1000 rpms.

no CEL's, and no idea whats wrong.... help thanks in advance all

try to replace the coil they tend to cause prblems when it is warm. or a bad injector wire since it is mpfi swaped. possibly a bad ground.

There could be many things causing this. Also check for vacuum leaks while you are looking for a bad ground or wiring that is damaged and grounding out somewhere.

possibly sounds like you have some mismatched harness plugs going to the wrong sensors..

im confident that everything is in the right spot, when i did the mpfi swap i marked the plugs when i unplugged them to be sure.

and yes i switched the tps wires.

something else i tried was to wire in the fitv on the back of the manifold but i've read AND heard from many people it isnt required... and it didnt help any when i wired it up.

and ive also read that this idle problem could be from an air bubble in the coolant or the eacv could be clogged up or something...

Bleeding the coolant couldnt hurt, cleaning the eacv couldnt hurt either. Might as well do those.

they are all wrong....its 1 of 2 things, check it out... take your intake piping off, let the car warm up, the 2 valves inside the throttle body, the bottom is for your fit valve, the top is your iacv... once the car is warm, put your finger over the bottom one...there should be NO suction what so ever, if there is, its your fit valve (right underneath the throttle body)

and if it is your fitv then you need to fix that. By either putting on a new one or taking the end cap off and screwing the thing is side back down. Easy project to do. 2 bolts hold it on, dont even need to take the coolent hoses off. Then 2 bolts hold the end cap on. But if that doesnt work then you should DEF. take off your iacv, which is in back of your intake manifold. It has 2 coolent lines going to it as well and also two bolts holding it on. But this one I would recomend you take off to clean. What you need to do is clean the holes, or the screan if you have on on there. Just get some breakclean or carb clean and spray it in there and get either some compressed air or let it dry out. either one of those should fix your idle problem. If its not that then check and double check your vacume diagram and make sure every thing is in the right spot and none of the hoses are cracked..... you know what i have a link that has good advice hold on................................................ ..

http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/Badidle.php

this should help you out. It helped me out when i had an idle problem. and if your car is warm and its at a constant idle, then you might just need to adjust your idle screw. search that on here and you should find how to do it pretty quick.

well then i would still clean out the iacv for sure and make sure your throttle cable isnt too tight keeping your throttle open.

but it doesnt.

the fitv is on the back of the manifold, and 92_ its on the bottom of the tb.
