Default viper alarm in rex

ok so im trying to install my viper 300 esp. all i want is a basic alarm that i can use to open my door locks on my 88 crx. i bought some actuators offline so they are aftermarket, and they look like this http://shopping.redorbit.com/p...n.jpg . so now i am trying to install my alarm, and the manual is giving me headaches.

im having trouble with where to connect some components. i know where all the 12v and constant and whatevers are on my car, but im not sure how i connect them to the brain and the relays that they gave me. they also gave me resistors, which i have no idea what to do with.

so the main plug on the brain has these wires..
orange (-output) when armed
white (+/- output) parking lights
white/blue (- output)channel three
black/white (- output) domelight supervision
green (- input) doorswitch zone 3
blue (-input) instant trigger zone 1
violet (+input) doorswitch zone 3
black (-input) chasis ground
yellow (+input) ignition zone 5
brown (+output) siren
red (+input) 12v constant
red/white (-output) channel 2

ok so the only one i really know out of those is the ground. could someone tell me where each of those wires goes (if i even need each). i just want the alarm to arm and disarm, beep if someoen opens the door, bumps it, etc, and for my locks to work.

also included was two relays. im assuming one is stater kill and the other is for the door locks. here are two pics...

im assuming relay one is the starter kill, and i assume it must be wired to the brain somehow, cause they share similar colors of wires.

relay two, says something about being for locks, and it has a plug to plug into the brain, but the other wires i have no idea. my door actuators have two wires only, and i got them with no relay, but the alarm says it shoudl work? it talks about certain signals, negative and positive, and u have to switch the jumper under a panel on the brain, but im so confused!

id really appreciate it if someone took a few minutes to just lemme know what to do. remember its a 88 crx. i looked up a diagram on the12volt of sercurity wires and it only lists a few, way less listed then wires are on the alarm.

orange (-output) when armed ---------- Run this to your starter kill relay
white (+/- output) parking lights --------Tap your parking lights
white/blue (- output)channel three ---Option For trunk pop or whatever
black/white (- output) domelight supervision ------- You can run this to your domelight to light up inside your car when you disarm.. (OPTIONAL)
green (- input) doorswitch zone 3 ------- This needs to be ran to your door pin
blue (-input) instant trigger zone 1 ------- (OPTIONAL)but should be run to a hood pin
violet (+input) doorswitch zone 3 ------Optional Positive door trigger
black (-input) chasis ground ----- Yea ground
yellow (+input) ignition zone 5 -------- This Runs to a switched with the key Ignition source
brown (+output) siren ------ Duhhhh
red (+input) 12v constant ------ "
red/white (-output) channel 2 -----Option output for whatever

Ohh and for your starter kill Run the orange from the brain to 3 on the relay and run 4 to a constant power source, Then take and find the starter wire and cut it, then run one side to 1 of the relay and the other to 2...

ok thanks a lot. the yellow wire on the brain, us ay run to a switched source, what wire on my ignition could i hook that up to? t he black/yellow ignition wire?? and the starter wire u say to cut to run to the relay, would that be the black/white one under the ignition, i just want o be sure before i go slicing things up.

if u have a chance lemme know about the door locks cause that was one of the rason why i got the alarm, i have sedan handles so i cant really get in or out. thanks tho.

http://www.commandocaralarms.c...a/CRX

yes starter black/white
yes ignition black/yellow

you're going to need two relays

http://www.miata.net/garage/pwrlock.htm

this is for a miata but same basic comcept, just find a spot that works for you.

as for the relays, on mine i put

86 and 87 to 12v constant
87A to ground
85 to lock from alarm on one relay
85 to unlock from alarm on the other relay
30 to unlock on the actuators on both doors on one relay
30 on other relay lock on actuators on both doors

hope this helps

aight here you go for the 451m (door lock relay module) here is how to wire it up to work aftermarket actuators

Purples wires (5 on ur picture) take to 12v constant

white black and brown black (3 and 1) take to ground

blue black and green black (4 and 2) take to the wires on the actuators you might have to switch these around so that they lock when u hit lock and unlock when u hit lock cuz at first the might unlock when u hit lock and lock when u hit unlock but no big deal like i said just switch the wires if they do the wrong thing

but that is it man everything else i like every1 else told u good luck rex are reall easy for alarm install

if u ad an actuator to the passenger door u do not need to use another relay that one relay can do up to 4 doors wit no prob

i would suggest using two relays as in the miata diagram, not exactly sure how you would do it with just one relay. go to autozone or kragen they have them for like 5 bucks if not then its like a dollar on ebay, but you'll have to wait

You need 2 Relays, and that will work for 2 doors fine

Its not one for each door, You need to run both sets of wires from the solenoids and connect them together, 2 relays are for reversing polarity...

ok now for everyone who knows nothing or thinks they know about viper alarms here is the deal

i work installin viper alarms for a livin and the relay that you are showin me in the second pic above that came wit the viper alarm is called a 451m door lock relay module. since u have this piece already there is no need to go out and get another relay since the one you already have is two relays built together as one for the single purpose of being used for multiplexed door systems includin aftermarket door actuators. Viper gives you this piece in the alarm so that u do not have to go and get two relays if u have an advanced door locking systems in your car or you are adding door lock actuators this part is exactly what u need. so for all of u who are sayin that he needs another relay he doesnt like i stated be4 and all he has to do is hook it up the way that i said and everything will be fine.

thanks for the help guys

to 91dxhatch, so on the relay i have, the two wires i hook up to the actuators, so i just run two wires from the passanger side doorlock and slice them onto those in order to control the other side?

ok so i installed it as your guys explained, but im having a problem. when i plug the brain in, the led lights up and stays lit. my alarm didnt come with a remote, so i got a replacement and i tried to program it. i did what it said, yadyada, headr the churps etc. i go to arm it, hear the brain click, but no chirp. i open the door, the alarm doesnt go off. i then disarm and i hear the brain click twice. all the while the led is still lit. the led turns off when i turn the ignition. any ideas? i had trouble with teh door pins because the wire (according to 12volt) is green with red stripe, but there are TWO, so im not sure which one is the right one..

i think you're in valet mode, see your manual to see how to get out of that, do the doors lock? just try both green and red wires until you get the right one

if ur led is stayin on constantly then u are in valet mode what u need to do is open ur door put the key in the ignition turn it to the on position and then bak off then push and release the valet button comin of the brain the led will then go out and u wont be in valet mode anymore as far as for the door pin wire go straight to the door pin if u do not have a dmm to test the two wires in the kick panel
