Default tranny?

ok i have a civic with a ls swap. my tranny grinds 3rd and doesnt go into 5th. i have another tranny laying around with good gears and syncrohs. how hard would it be to take the gears out of the bad one and put the new gears in it? is there anywere i could get dierection to do this?? are ther special tools i need? lmk asap i need my tranny working

i guess the easiest way out is to swap the entire gears column.

here's a very good write up w/c might be able to help. it's an LS final gear swap though for a JDM S1 cable tranny.

if you have never pulled a tranny or tore down a tranny its probably advisable that
you steer clear of swapping your gears as this could lead to major frustration.
if you dont have any transaxle tranny experience then its gonna be a major
bitch with no one right beside you to guide you through it
