It can't be done for cheap, otherwise everyone would be doing it. I think finding a b17 crank might be one option, but its hardly cheap when considering the labour.

Well, if you have the right transmission, it will simulate extra torque, the transmission multiplies the torque so even though the b16 doesn't have much torque with a ys1 or a s1 tranny or **** even the y1 you should get sufficient thrust. Are you sure you're looking for more torque, or does your car not "feel" fast enough, if your rockin' an LS gearbox, getting a cable vtec tranny would remedy your problem.

Besides geting a turbo, sc or nitrous, one other way to do it is replace the B16 block with a B18C1/5 block or go LSVTEC or CRVTEC.
