Default Removing impact Beam for Intercooler... Good Idea? PICS? How Do You Mount Bumper?

So I started fabbing my traction bars and such, got my 1/2 rad mounted with some nice brackets. I then tried to see where I would put my intercooler.

Its a dual backdoor style. 18 X 12 X 3.5 with 2.7" outlets

I already had a big long front mount last year, this year Im going backdoor for small and short intercooler piping. The onyl place I can feasabily put it, is right beside my 1/2 rad on the drivers side, but it will technically be "infront" of the rad, pretty much right into the bumper to squeeze infront of the turbo and manifold.

Whats right there where I wanna put it? My crash beam.

Now I have 2 choices
-completely remove it and hope I dont get in a small accident where it would help
-cut the driver side completely out (atleast 1/2 of the unit, maybe more), and maybe weld a piece of flat stock across infront to the bulkhead

What have you guys done? have any pics?
How did you mount your bumper then since the bolt holes are now gone?

Thanks

since you have a crx get the hf bumper support and ditch the huge si/dx one. the hf support is like $60 and is nothing more than a thin piece of metal that holds the bumper in place. you will have a lot more room to work with

get the real thing

KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!

for the front of hatch and sedans you can run without the metal brace, the 4 10mm bolts along with the 4 philips head screws on the fender sliders are enough to hold the bumper cover in place.

the downside is obviously any sort of accident becomes worse then it would have. like low speed fender benders etc

maybe jet a jdm support? i know the supports for the stock si jdm bumpers look like hf ones, I would assume the jdm civic is the same as they dont have the same crash standards as here

Is the hatch bumper support as the same as the sedan bumper support? If so that'd be great. On that note, are the Sedan and Hatch bumpers the same dimension wise when it comes to bolting on?
