So I go to start my 88 honda civic and it started but was making a funny rattling sound from the under carriage,so i parked it.I took the heat shield off my cat and started it but it bogged out and died and the rattle was still there....some one told me it was probably a broken oxygen senor and that was the rattling noise,but that wasnt it either cause I changed it and nothing...now I am in a jam and need some tips??????

your post does not tell us much.
bogged and died?? rattling is probably not the issue...does your check engine light work? have you ever done a tune up? is there good gas in it? where are you located?
