Default Question on nrg quick release and locks

Ok so im looking to get a quick release setup and im a bit confused on this. I have a 89 hatch. I want to get a nrg quick release hub maybe not the smaller one because I think I want my wheel to extend out a little bit more then stock. Im 6'4 quite tall and cant heel and toe right now with the stock setup and I want to up my security on the car at the same time so killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I want to get a 350mm steering wheel which i think we'll be perfect with the nrg hub and quick release... Now my question do all quick releases have locks or is it the hub that has a lock... or do you have to buy a lock for the quick release and hub. This is the part im really confused about. I havent though of what steering wheel yet but it will most likely be momo, nrg, or sparco. Give me some input on your quick release setups.. I tried doing research on the locking thing but I still havent fully understood it. BTW this is not my only means of security I just want to add security.

If it's a MOMO you'll probably need the 6 bolt to 5 bolt quick release they only have one like this. The lock goes on the release. The release bolts to the hub.

No Jr.

The NRG quick release doesn't come with a lock. You can get package deals that include short hub, quick release, and lock, but they're all different parts. Additionally, when you're using a quick release the quick release bolts to the hub and the wheel bolts to other part of the quick release.

Lots of shitty info for such a short post.

Any 6 bolt steering wheel should fit the NRG quick release.

^ thank you sir... Do any of you have any advice for someone of my height? I want to learn to heel and toe so Im not sure if I should get a short hub or get the regular one which Im guessing will make it sit farther from the dash and closer to me. Now I have a good understanding of the quick release thanks...

If you're getting the quick release get the short hub. The standard hub is really intended for use without a release.

Alright. Removed that. I thought the quick release was similar to the regular hub that I have. It was a poor assumption.
