actually talk to turbo panda he sells a really good setup, thats worth your time looking into. Its not stupid, don't put down something you know nothing about.

But in light of b16 rods fitting in the block, the bottom of the block has to be grinded slightley. There much better then the small d series rods, much thicker. Check out the link though.
And for the people who were bashing him.
And for ridge racer i remember how you posted JDM parts is a waste of money. If you think that people buy them just for a trend your just has dumb. Quality OEM or better products is what its all about.

CRX_SOHC, thanks for your intelligent answer. The reason I even considered it is beause I have a D16 for free and work at an auto parts store (so I get the nice 20% off). I know the OEM D16 rods are veritable toothipicks. I figure with some B16 rods and chromium rings I can boost the **** out of it and still retain the "oh, you've just got a boosted D16" look.
Ridge Ricer and my crx is dope (which, might I add, is quite the oxymoron), I suggest you prove your engine building credentials before bashing others. It's true I have less than 10 posts, but did you ever stop to consider that maybe I get my information from sources that are little more reputable than a bunch of <U>owners;</U> that maybe I get most of my information from <U>design engineers</U> ?

I have a full machine shop at my disposal and the knowledge to operate it.
CNC mills, lathes, drills, arc/mig/tig/carbon arc gouging, metal forming, carbon fibre forming and curing, rotary broach, sanding table, boring bars, hone tank, blah blah blah. I'm on my school's Formula SAE team. We build real real fast Honda-powered ****: 0-60 in 3.16 sec, 1.3 sustained g's on the 100' skidpad, 165 mph top speed, making 78 hp pulling through a 20mm restrictor etc etc etc, and all from 600cc. I think I can handle the block mods. I had considered just making my own rods and pistons, but figured there was some aftermarket combo I could bastardize and sledgehammer it in there to make 'er work.

you are right. i just know that you may spend the same amount of money buying a motor where b16 rods are wanted rather than trying to make your little project work. but you are right. boost the "****" out of it. where is the oxymoron?

I just got back from the machine shop, the difference in big-end width is 0.035", so they are milling that much from the sides of the rod (1/2 of that from each side), pressing in some ARP rod bolts, reconditioning the rods, then off to Brian (Crower) for custom-made bushings, and press-fitting on my pistons.
The LS rods are good for 350-375hp+, try that with a D16 rod...

It looks like someone ruined it for everyone. I just spoke to Brian at Crower, and they aren't interested in doing the LS rods to D16 anymore because someone gave them the wrong instructions, and they'll have to replace his rods. As it turns out, if you want to fit a stock piston on LS rods, you should ask them to press fit it (I dont know how you can do that considering its 21MM on rod and 19mm on piston) not to bush it.
He said that it would cost around 300$ to do the work
The bushing is probably for floating pins only. I might be possible to make this setup work if you groove the pistons.
Anyhow, I bought some LS rods, and I'll have to find some other way to make it work....
