Problem @ 7000 RPM MPFI swap
Allright, performed the MPFI swap a couple months ago, started right up and no codes. However,if I rev to about 7000 RPM,I usually get a code 1 (oxygen content) and code 16 (injector) and it runs like crap the rest of the day.My timing is pretty retarted too, like maybe the belt is 1 tooth off.Motor is stock except for the MPFI swap and a Konig short ram intake.Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

stop revving to 7000 rpm, its not going to last long going that high, especially with a stock engine. doesn't make much more power up there anyway. its ok sometimes but not every redline shift.
the only time i shift at 7000 is when i'm powershifting.

huh? Why in hell would Honda allow an ecu to control an engine higher than it can go. The stock DX or Std motor this swap is on has a tiny cam, so yes, it won't make much power, but the cam allows very little stress up there as well. 7k revving is fine for Hondas, at the track I'll sit above 6k for 15 minutes straight, no issues, with the same swap, but a Si cam as well, so I'll have way more stress on the valve train.
You must come from a domestic world where everything is built like ***, cuz anybody that knows Hondas, knows that they are made to be high-revving reliable monsters.
geez, I figured people on the board would have some respect for Honda's,

i realize that hondas are meant to rev and are built well but it will eventually break if you sit at ~6K+ for more than 15 minutes like you say you do. I take mine to 7k+ sometimes also, i was just telling him to basically be careful and don't do it all the time. especially on a stock 13 year old engine. mine is rebuilt.

Yeah,I rarely do it...my 89 Integra could go higher and still make power that high...the rods on the Integra's engine were stronger though.I'd like to put some Eagle H beams and Arias pistons,an HF manifold with a T25,and maybe a mild cam just to see the potential the D15 has.If I blew it,ZC's and D16Z6's are pretty cheap!

Have you guys ever heard of something called "duty cycle"?
It's basically the percentage that parts can last at maximum output without risking damage... I've heard that most automotive applications have a 30 percent duty cycle. Meaning if you put max stress on your motor only 30 percent of the time you drive it, you should be ok. Any more than that and problems could arise.
