need a confirmed guide for d16z6 swap
Bought a 89 ef hatch ment condition for 300 bucks from some old man who was the original owner of it. has a 121k miles on it will crank but wont spark.
-
recently bought a d16z6,the tranny and the ecu and harness from the salvage yard that some airforce guy brought in. he brought the car from germany is was a del sol body but said CRX exsi..... was confused when i seen this. the motor runs and drives great but he cant take it back with him and sold it to the junkyard.
i got the motor,tranny,harness,and ecu for 400$.
-
My current motor is DPFI and the Z6 of course is MPFI, i just need a guide to dropping the z6 in and doing the wiring right found a few but just need a confirmation on which one the pros here think i should use in orer to do the swap correctly.

Is your car automatic?
What transmission are you planning to use?
Google has tons of info.
Here's a start if you plan to do the basic swap with "normal" parts.

Currently in the car-d15b8,4sp manual tranny, stock ecu, evernything stock atm for the 89 ef hatch.
currently in the garage, d16z6 all components with it,d16z6 tranny,p28 ecu that came withit, wiring harness from delsol.
just need to know what more do i really need from what i understand its a straight drop with a little mod to the timing belt cover.and redoing the wiring from the harness to the bay and ecu. i found a few link but seem to be all about the ZC and not so confident on which write up to use. i want this to go as smoothly as possible and trying to get all the parts i need before i get into it,

Sell the hydro tranny and pick up a cable Si tranny (avoid the '88 tranny if you can) You can either convert the car to OBD1 or run a chipped OBD0 PR3 along with an OBD0 distributor with 1 leg cut off, and OBD0 injectors from a D16A or a B18A1.
