Default PLEASE! NEED OIL LIGHT ADVICE !

ok heres the deal:

I used Engine restore a few days ago... worked awesome. car feels great.

i drive an hour each way to work and the car felt especially awesome on the highway to and from work....

problem:

i was running out of gas lastnight and i rode E for a couple miles on my way home because i didnt feel like getting gas. A few blocks from my house the OIL LIGHT starts flickering while im stopped... so im thinking its maybe cuz i need gas cuz i know the car dumps more fuel to keep the car on when ur at idle... but why the oil light? so i just drove home. turned the car off then on... no oil light. so im thinig its a ghost in the machine and i go inside to bed.

today i woke up and i had to take my dog to the vet. i get gas... im driving and about 20 minutes into the drive the oil light flicker comes back on while im at a stop light. i start pumping my brakes and the light goes off when i do that....so im like wtf and i get to the vet then i go home.. the car was doing the same **** the whole way.

i jumped on here and looked up some experiences with engine restore but i didnt find anything out of the ordinary except for something about engine restore creating air gaps in the oil. so i go outside and add more oil and let the car run for a while. no flicker. then i get in the car and drive around... after about 20 mins it does the same damn thing. .. flickering oil light at stops.

HT any ideas why? also... the car feels awesome...after i added the engine restore it realys feels like i added another 10-15 horse... i had the oil light flicker before on another engine and it turned out i spun all my bearings out of nowhere... but i knew the car was fucked cuz when i left off the gas u could feel and hear the engine getting fucked up. this is my second b18b. any advice?

** edit ** hearing a vacuum hiss from my brake booster! fyi ..recently replaced interior pedals...

Maybe plugged up your oil journals and you are getting bad flow?

The sensor itself reports on oil pressure, not level. So you're loosing pressure somewhere. Could be the oil pump going, or perhaps the screen getting clogged. I think I would start with the flush since that is the cheaper of the drill down.

I doubt it had anything to do with the restore, I have used it on a bunch of old cars with good results. I would not use any kind of engine flush though. it is very strong and have seen people burn rings with it. I would just change the oil and replace a qt of oil with a qt of marvel mystery oil, or if you cant find use a qt of risolone. If you hadnt just put a pump in I would say the pump, it could also be a bad sender, see if you can borrow or just buy a cheap $20 mechanical gauge and just rig it in temporarily and drive around and see what the actual pressure is at idle, make sure the oil is warm to get proper results.

You ever heard of using atf and letting it idle for a bit or something? A friends dad was telling me about it. He said he did it at every oil change, and when he finally pulled the engine apart 10 or so years later, all the parts looked brand new. I've never tried it myself. Just wondering...

update.

i changed the sender, pulled the pan, pickup was fine, pan is fine, changed oil.. even installed a new brake booster... still getting the flickering. i think my last option is the engine flush.... i dont wanna do that though.. could expletive things up even more...we'll see what happens. thinking of abandoning this motor in favor of a b16... so stressed out about this car **** and job related stuff. if i drop a b16 in my car, how much u think i could get for it? look at my sig.

youre supposed to drain the oil after running that restore. you dont just pour and forget.

you run the engine for a short time, then drain and replace with fresh oil.

no sorry youre wrong. i called restore today and i did everything correctly... theyre pulling the entire batch with the same code on it that i bought... plus heres what the website says.

"For best results, Restore should be added when changing the oil & filter. To avoid overfilling be sure to reduce the amount of oil that you normally add by about a half quart.
"

u add it at the time of an oil change. and regardless i just changed the oil again today.

well the car feels fine no question. but who knows.... the light is making me paranoid. this could be a costly mistake if the restore is the culprit. it seems i dont have oil pressure at idle unless i pump my brakes or rev a lil. the idle screw doesnt even make the car idle higher.
