ping or tick under even light load

ping or tick under even light load
it started as just the engine sounding different than normal, so i gave it some load and it sounded like it was almost missing a cylinder
and then later that day i noticed it was pinging like crazy, even under 2000rpm loads, even if i sat in neutral and chucked the revs a bit i could hear it ping.
dohc zc engine, si tranny, custom turbo kit that has been working for the last 4 years or so.
so i took it for a scope, everything turned up ok, vauum waves are nice, timing is bang on, everything looks pretty good. did a compression test, stock zc motor and i got 175 all the way across. cam timing is bang on.
history:
honda did a valve adjustment for me about a month ago cause i started to notice a bit of a knock at cold startup, but that wasn't the cause.
when i start it bone cold it will have a slight knock that goes away after like 2 seconds.
fuel filter has been replaced no longer than a month ago
new plugs
new wires
new cap and rotor
the ignitor is very new as well
plugs look good too
doesn't really burn oil, the engine seems to be healthy
new tank of gas, i thought it could have been bad gas.
but i get a ping and my car seems to have a lot less power and sounds kinda odd.
and the bov doesn't sound the same even, i dont get that real nice loud squeel, instead i get a chirp, but under light boost it seems to sound normal, just a steady whoosh.
anyone have any ideas?

when honda did the valvetrain adj. what did they set the gap at? ZC spec? That probably wouldn't cause a significant ping but it could make a difference. Have you determined what cylinder it was or does it vary? What psi are you running? Fuel management? Just a few things to help get some anwsers.

i gave honda the correct zc specs for the valves
and they have been fine up until now. (for about a month)
running 450cc injectors flow tested and balanced by rc engineering
safc hack, been running it for 4 years now.
tuned to run slightly rich for safety
i usually run 7-9psi but since its been doing this ive turned it right down to what the wastegate is set at stock (4psi) and ive even gotten ping at 4psi.
the car doesnt even boost under neutral rev conditions, but i can still get a ping.
not sure what cyl its from, i wish i knew, but the mechanics that have looked at havent said which one it is.
when i put new wires on one of them fell off cause i didnt put it on good enough and it had like a machine gun type sound from the motor that sounded like what it was doing before, but it was a lot harder to notice before this happened
