Default pace setter adjustable short throw shifter

has anyone tried this short shifter? i heard it reduces throws up to 80% and its also adjustable. how does it compare to the normal dc sports/razo/skunk2/neuspeed short shifters? anyone?

its pacesetter...need I say more. haha.

I wouldnt trust an adjustable not to break...even non adjustables break. and I doubt you'll be able to go 'up to 80%' b/c of the shifter hittin your exhaust....just some thoughts

like marked said, its pacesetter...

second, i think short shifters are a waste and can contribute to premature syncro wear.

that's my $0.02.

Shortshifters don't tear up a tranny its a bad driver that tears up the tranny. It's the drivers fault they can't adapt to the quickness of the shift with their hand feet coordination. So if you just get used to the short shifter then your tranny will be fine.

chhuong, please explain...what do you mean they cant adapt to the quickness of the shift with their hand feet coordination? how does that affect the tranny? how do short shifters affect the tranny?

adjustable anything is not the greatest. shift linkages are really lose feeling, and i bang the hell out of my shifters so an adjustable one doesnt sounds like a great idea =P

picture this: you're running through the gears quickly, push it into 3rd hard, the **** breaks off and you put your fist through your CD player because you saved $20 on the pace setter...

damn. looks like i'm the only one on the "pro" side...
i actually had the adjustable Pacesetter on my car for like three years. honestly, it's the nicest firmest shift i've felt. i've felt the generic ones, DC, and others and the Pacesetter is the nicest. the DC kind are so sloppy still it's a waste of money. the shift was nothing it was so short, and in the three years my transmission did not grind at all. the adjustable part is dope cuause you can get it to your likings.
just because of the name don't ASSume anything. it's quality. i mean i would NEVER buy a pacesetter exhaust or header, BUT the shifter is quality. everybody who drove my car was like wow, what kind is this i want one. and i didn't save 20 bux on it...i paid 120 for it 3 years ago...but they've gone down in price.
it's true. and i would DEFINITELY buy another one in the future.

Rasta, well it's like this lets say you put your shortshifter in but your used to your old shifter, so when you put in the clutch and you shift you let go of your clutch to fast or too slow to adjust to the new shifter and instead of going in smoothly you will grind. So basically it's the drivers' fault if you take your time to get used to it before shifting all fast and crazy, it won't do any harm to your tranny!!

I have the DC short shifter. It took a lot of modifications to get it installed. I had to grind out the bracket that holds the shifter in place, just to just the shifter through. The shifter shortens the throw dramatically...but its not really a smooth shift, I tend to miss shifts going into second mostly. As for it breaking...I dont think I need to worry about that.
