P29s in D15
Anyone know if i can fit P29 pistons into a d15, or would i have to find a d16 block. And if i do need a d16, can i get the d15 bored that much?

AFAIK the bore's are the same on d15's and d16's from the facotry. it's the stroke that is different, along with crank size. but to answer your question there are a few people who have put the p29's in their d15xx on youtube...

Ok well now that i know that, im down to do it, im guessing i should keep the d15 crank, im thinkin if. Just doing a head swap for now and might take my friends d16 and start building it. what would be better, d16 crank and rods with p29s or d15 crank and rods, wouldnt the d15 give better compression??

you have to change the rods off the p29 pistons. I was going to do the swap in a spare d15b2 i had layin around but the stroke was way too long and would cause problems. Also the rods dont match up to the crank because the rods are bigger around. Just put them into your d16, thats what im doing along with a y8 head swap.

yea i know, but the d15 is already in the car and the d16 isnt so id rather drive the car around and build the other block then make a quick switch, instead of my car being outta commission for a long time.

i just swap out some d16z6 pistons onto a d15b7 block . gotta use same rods and just swap out the pistons. then threw on a vtec head on top. hasn't been started yet but cant wait to see how well it goes.

Re: P29s in D15
P29s work, just get some with 30mm compression height. I think FJ Distributors has them. But, Im building a d15 and using pm3s and milling the head to get some more compression. From what I've been told the p29s dome hinders good combustion.
