Default OBD0 - OBD1 w/ VTECFrog Harness

Or, at least I THINK it is, here are the wiring conflicts:

Conflict #1 (OBD0 Pin A6 is connected to OBD1 Pin A20)
On the OBD0 side, I have pin location A6 which is a ground connect, that connects to the OBD1 connector at A20. A20 on OBD1 is for the purge control.

Conflict #2 (OBD0 Pin B10 is connected to OBD1 Pin B11)
OBD0 for Pin B10 is for the crank angle sensor
OBD1 for Pin B11 is for the Cylinder sensor

Conflict #3 (OBD0 Pin B12 is connected to OBD1 Pin B12)
OBD0 for Pin B12 is for the crank angle sensor
OBD1 for Pin B12 is for the Cylinder sensor

Conflict #4 (OBD0 Pin C1 is connected to OBD1 Pin B15)
OBD0 for Pin C1 is for the Cylinder Sensor
OBD1 for Pin B15 is for the crank angle sensor

Conflict #5 (OBD0 Pin C2 is connected to OBD1 Pin B16)
OBD0 for Pin C2 is for the Cylinder Sensor
OBD1 for Pin B16 is for the crank angle sensor

Conflict #6 (OBD0 Pin B1 is connected to OBD1 Pin D1)
OBD0 for Pin B1 is for the Ignition Switch
OBD1 for Pin D1 is for the Back-up Fuse

Please, let me know if this is an issue (i'm pretty damn sure the cylinder sensor and crank angle sensor is a problem!)

when you use that harness don't you just wire it like you gonna use a obd-0 ecu. But then plug it in the obd-1 conversion harness.

there's a separate harness that you connect the 4-wire O2 sensor, the vtec signal, the vtec oil press, and the knock sensor (plus iab and some other junk).

it's pretty much plug in play if you already have a B16A and go OBD1.

All of those pinouts are correct. Jaker is a good guy and knows his stuff. How about you list the problems that you are having before jumping to any conclusions.

actually, only TWO are right.

the cyl and crank angle sensors are WRONG.

VTEC Frog and it's semi-lousy harness.

Swapped the pins and the car started up right away. Bought the harness from ARD Performance.

Currently have a code 41... which makes perfect sense since i definitely don't have the O2 sensor wired correctly. Once wired up, i'll begin tuning.

Wrong depending on how you wired the distributor. What are your colors at the distributor?

Thanks for the kind words Jason.

Driven:

Jason is right. Our adapter is configured to permit the end user to use wire color to wire color when wiring up the distributor. However if the chassis was DPFI to start with, it is necessary to do the MPFI conversion first.

If you have any more troubles, please contact us (the manufacturer) at jake@vtecfrog.com

Jacques

Final words:

VTECFrog harness switches the cyl/crank pins at the harness.
Locash distributor harness switches the cyl/crank wires at the distributor clips.

If you use the VTECFrog obd0-obd1 harness, you must match colour for colour at the distributor clips.
If you don't, you switch the wires at the distributor clips.

if all else fails... do what i did. Take your obd0-obd1 harness and trace where the wire from the OBD0 side goes to the OBD1 side and write it down. then, check a few pin location diagrams to find out which ones are different.

take the above information as you wish...whether it was the VTECFrog harness issue or the locash harness issue, check them both.
