obd0 to obd1 distributer wiring, one green wire left wheres it go?
ok, i just put this obd1 d16y8 dizzy on with my y8 into crx swap and i followed all the wiring as stated in the instructions i got but there is one solid green wire left and i dont know where it goes.
- obd0 = 7 wires plus the 2 ( blk/ylw & blue )
- obd1 = 8 wires plus the 2 ( blk/ylw & blue )
this is wat the instructions say........
OBD0 OBD1
thick white ylw/grn
thin white white
org org
wht/blu white/blue
blu/ylw blu/ylw
blu/grn blu/grn
all of these colors are hooked up but the is still one solid green one coming out of the y8 dizzy, but i have no clue where it goes
PLEASE HELP
here is picture of my dizzy and green wire
http://www.cincinnatistreetrac...=2521
also, on the 2 prong plug on the vtech solenoid (green) , is one of those just a ground? there is only 1 wire to go to it in the instructions?
THANKS!

Yes the VTEC Oil Switch is the green plug on the solenoid and one of the wires a ground.
You can see that the top wire is for ground

Not the best pic but you can see its above the oil filter with the green plug going into it.
You can use the A6 dizzy on the Y8 as long as you are using the crx's ECU. How are you activating VTEC? The Z6 dizzy wouldn't work unless you are using a P28 ECU anyway plus the "legs" of the distributor don't line up as well as the A6 dizzy does.

this is the set up i am trying to finish = obd0 to obd1 conversion wiring harness form total performance racing, y8 head and block, si tranny, p28 ecu ("vtec activation"), y8 im and tb, not sure which dizzy will work best, z6?
i am hoping i installed the y8 intake manifold right, i fitted the intake temp into the cai right before the tb, and use the plug in from the old si map on the fire wall which plugged right into the map on the y8 tb. what should i do with the old si map on the firewal along with the charcoal canister and stuff, they are vacum operated and the map is a sensor i guess.

You won't need a knock sensor for the Y8 if you are using a P28 because it doesn't look for it. You can remove all the old map sensor items but I would leave the charcoal canister because its possible you will have a gas odor if you remove it. The black plug I believe is the fan switch plug.

so i shouldnt need the ks even though is says to hook it up in the instructions?
there is one vacum line coming from the cansister still to the old map sensor, should i plug that or leave it open? do u think pluging the old map sensor to the y8 map on the tb will work fine? so far i have hooked up the vtech signal and pressure signals, have the knock sensor ready to be pluged in, 4 wire o2 sensor ready to be pluged in once i find one. must i get a secondary o2 sensor after the cat too?

Re: (CRXCRAZYD16Y8)
1. No the P28 ECU doesn't look for knock. The harness is generic and is for most swaps (B16A, B18C, etc) which have knock sensors, but the knock sensor in your case won't be used because of the ECU doesn't look for a knock because the D16Z6 (the P28 is for the D16Z6) doesn't have one. Just put a wire nut on the end of that wire from the conversion harness and tuck it away.
2. You can get rid of the map assembly all together and plug any of the vacuum lines that came off the intake manifold to it.
3.Yes the map sensors read identical, I used a Z6 map sensor with my swap (89 CRX Si w/ D16Z6 swap) and it worked fine.
4. No secondary O2 since the P28 doesn't look for anything but the one 4 wire O2. Just make sure that the placement of the O2 sensor is on the exhaust manifold or header right before the catalytic converter as opposed to right near the head as on the DX manifold. If you get an aftermarket header get one for a Z6 or Y8. Other than that you should be straight.

nope you just wont need the vaccume line that runs from the t/b to the old map sensor in fact you can rid of the map sensor and the purge soilinoid and the charcoal canister just make sure you run the vent line from the gas tank safley outside the car and not in the engine bay like it is now
