OBD-0 B16A: WTF Distributor Firing Order?
Howdy ya'all. I've got a 90 OBD-0 B16A in my 90 hatch. Wired for an OBD-1 distributor (TD68U). S1 cable tranny. Swapped it all in a couple months ago. Everything went smooth. Been driving it with absolutely no problems for about 3000 miles. Pulled nice and strong. The other day when leaving work, I noticed it had some small hiccups/misfires when accelerating around town but cleared up. Thought nothing of it and drove the 35 miles home on the highway with no issues. The next morning I was driving to work on the highway again and the vehicle began having major misfires and shut off at 75mph. I coasted to the side and the vehicle would crank but not fire up.
My buddy happened to be driving by and stopped. As we were prodding around under the hood, my buddy stated that my ignition cables were in a different order on the distributor than his 95 GSR using the same distributor (TD68U). He switched them around and the car fired up with no issues and drove fine the rest of the way to work.
I never touched the distributor/cables/plugs when I got the engine and swapped it in. Fired right up since day one so I never thought anything of it. I've now checked all plugs and wires (NGKs) and everything looks good. Cap n Rotor are fine. WTF is going on here? Isn't there only one way for the firing order? I'm pretty confused here.
Here is the original firing order on the distributor I was running:
And here it is at the moment
From what I've googled, some people say its the first way and others say its the second way. Any advice on which one ya'all think I should stick to or what's going on here? Thanks!

The wires should be run the way they were as you said in your first pic
That's the way it's been on my past civics and acuras
Idk why the second pics says applicable to Ls because on my Ls It wasn't
Try switching the wires to the original way you had them and see what happens
If not i guess keep them the way they are if it's working
Also try to make no wires touch as this could cause misfire
And when the car is running, run your handover the wires to see if you get shocked, meaning a wire is bad.

Alright, thanks fellas. I'll switch it back and see how things go. I swapped plugs, wires, and the distributor just to be on the safe side.
