Hmm there is a fuel pump fuse?? I checked all the fuses under the dash with a light tester and all of the fuses except the starter signal fuse hole lights up. The previous owner had a push button start wired up and I'm hoping it didn't cause a short. This would suck if I have to go get another underdash harness!!

Re: Not getting Fuel!!! Replace relay, pump, filter!!! WTF!!!
The fuel pump is not getting voltage to pump fuel to the engine. I put my del sol ecu thinking maybe the chipped p28 I have in the rex went out but stll the same problem.
What else can be the problem??
-ecu is good
-main relay is brand new
-fuel pump is brand new and installed correctly
-all electrical in the car and dash works fine
-the car cranks and wants to start but no fuel goes into the fuel filter
Any ideas???

what i would do now is go under the back seat and find the connector, test for power there and see, pending you have a test light or voltmeter

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: Not getting Fuel!!! Replace relay, pump, filter!!! WTF!!!
Start checking for voltage from the pump back to the ECU... or do the easy ones first like the ECU... you already did the fuel pump and know you are not getting power between there and the Main Relay. Sometimes jumperharnesses fail out of the blue due to weak connections...

I did the test helms manual said to do;
-I took off the main relay
-connected a jump wire on the two bottom right negative and power pins on the connector
-I did a light test on the connector which was the two on the right
-no voltage to the fuel pump at all.
The used my old jumper harness that was working fine before I put in this new one just to be safe and still nothing.

I might throw this in for consideration... if you can hear the pump buzz for 2 seconds when turning the switch, it is probably trying.
On some of my cars, I turn the switch on about three times before cranking it over, because they leak fuel back to the tank after shutting it off.

The pump may actually be pumping but not building up pressure if the fuel regulator has failed, though I've never had one fail before.

With a multimeter or test light,
1) make sure you have power at pin 1 and pin 5 of the main relay with the ignition turned on. If not check your fuses or ignition.
2) with the engine cranking (or within the first couple seconds of the key turned on) Check for a ground on pin 8. (put your positive on pin 1 and negative on pin 8, you should get around 12v) If you do not have a ground then your ecm is not grounding the relay, you will have to find this pin at the ecm relay and see if it is grounding at the ecm. If it has a ground right at the ecm then the wire between the two is broken.
If you do have a ground on pin 8, then you should now have 12v on pin 7.
If you have 12v on pin 7 at the relay but do not have it at the pump then your wire is broken from the relay to the pump.
Make sure you have a good ground at the pump connector as well.

Re: Not getting Fuel!!! Replace relay, pump, filter!!! WTF!!!
Ok last update! I said forget it and replaced the underdash harness. It wasn't that hard considering I had two friends helping. the rex is still pretty much gutted still but at least I fixed the original problem. I think there was a short because the wires looked all messed up and cut from the previous owner.
At least at the end of the day I don't have to worry about fuel problems for a long time... knock on wood
Thanks for the help guys!!!
