Default New SiR track project.

Hey Guys, its been some time since i posted on here, simply because i have been without a CRX for a number of years now.

I have a new CRX track project....have a look below!

If anyone can tell me about the exhaust system, i would be grateful as im struggling to find info, but its made by a Japanese company called Limit....never heard of them, but it looks and sounds great!

I intend to update this thread as i go along and get it ready for the road and track.

So, here are the pics, as you can see, it needs a dam good clean and t-cut / polish and a bit of paintwork here and there, if you look in the last pic, you can see on the bumper on the left just after a bit of t-cutting, the paintwork comes up a treat.

Inside will be tidied right up, with the car being cleaned thoroughly and the bucket seat repaired.

I know it will predominately used on track, but i still want it to look mint ( so the photographers can get some gleaming pics of it before i throw it up a tyre wall )

Overall the car is gonna clean up very well, theres zero rot on it, and its solid underneathe.

So here's the spec of what i can see.

Flint Black SiR with Sunroof,
150k
B16a2 Engine (do not know whats been done inside....if anything)
Splitfire Leads
Denso Plugs
HKS Panel filter
Cusco Front Brace
Pro Spats rear Brace
Full roll cage with door bars, floor bars, rear cross bars (suspect Safety 21 cage)
Momo steering wheel
Razo gearknob
Razo pedals.
Bride bucket seat.
Sabelt harness.
Fly off drift handbrake mod!!!
Omori Oil Pressure Gauge
Omori Water Temp Gauge
Omori Oil Temp Gauge.
R Spec VTEC controller
PIAA upradted headlights.
Xenon sideskirts
Xenon rear bumper skirts.
LIMIT full exhaust system (anyone heard of this strange japanese make?)
Uprated pads (dont know what yet)
Tein adjustable suspension front
GAB Sport adjustable rear suspension
Mugen CF48 14" wheels
Bridgestone Tyres.

Plans;

Clean it up inside and out,
Get it road legal
Register it
New wheels and tyres.
Change oils and fluids,
Undertake cheap big brake conversion including braided hosing.
Go on track and enjoy!

There will be more as i go along for sure.

PS....anyone wanna buy the wheels, they are disgusting!! :D

Your steering wheel is on the wrong side, you should get that checked.
I heard they are honda defects.

Nice find!
Might want to find a better place to mount the seatbelt in the back if you are serious about tracking it.

I know what you are saying, i know you guys got the hard deal in terms of crx spec (originally), but there are loads of these in the UK now....its gonna be a track car, i will get it looking clean, but track work mainly.

I live near a track called Cadwell Park (they call it a mini nurburgring) where it will spend most weekend.....Donington Park is only 40miles away aswell, so i will spend time there also.

Ive had a couple of glass roof SiR's and was shocked this had a sunroof....didnt know some JDM cars were specced with them.

Yea, i was looking what to do with the mounting....gonna get some newer harness's anyway and might get some eyebolts welded in somewhere more substantial.

Thanks for the kind comments guys, i will keep updated with the thread to show you the final outcome.

If someone genuinely wants to buy the wheels, make me an offer!

Cheers.

LOL....we have an sh1te ecconomy (most places int he world do now though), and with how the pound has collapsed against the yen, JDM imports have litterally stopped at the moment!

Out of interest, whats the rules for importing RHD cars to Canada now, is it cars over 15 years old that are allowed?

Da.

Been pretty busy with the car, although it doesnt like loads done, believe me all the little bits added up took some time.

I'm still awaiting for my bride seat to come back from the upholsterer (he's only had the seat 11 weeks now ), and it really is that and the foglight, and then the car can go for an MOT and registering.

So in the meantime i have painted all the door trims (bit that goes scabby on tops of the doors), painted the wipers, painted the trim that sits between the roof and the hatch, fitted a 2nd hand drivers door (the other was dented to ****....it hit some armco somewhere in japan).

I've also painted and fitted a 6.9 spoiler (thanks Stu), fitted some Spoon "style" mirrors, and painted my Sparco NS2's flint black and put a red stripe on the rim along with some yoko parada 2's fitted for the front.

Yesterday, i t-cut the paint (again!!!), and polished it, restored all the black plastic / rubber trim with some rubber feed.....and i mean ALL the trim (took ages).

Not much left to do really, like i said, just waiting for the seat to come back, another tidy inside, foglight fitted, gonna replace the standard bonnet with a fibreglass version from Peter M.
Also, 282mm brake upgrade in the near future.

Comments welcome.....have i failed misserably with the make over !?!

Tein NR's up front

GAB Sport rears.

oh then idk.

i got this from wikipedia.

== 1986 Honda CRX SiR or JDM Model == There was also a Special edition CRX Si in 1986. There was only 14 of these cars made. It is often refurred to as the "JDM" model or a type "R" model. All 14 of these "JDM" style models are metallic black and have gold racing trim around the bottom. They also had heavier suspension, heavier clutch plate, stronger front and back axels, black pin-striped tailights, and dual exhaust. This was Hondas` "prototype" intended only for use on an enclosed course. This "Type-R" model was susposed to go into production in 1987. But sadley the car never made it to the market, due to the higher price that it would have to be sold at. But a few of these "prototype" cars made it into the public market. At a base price of $19,989. compared to the non "JDM" style model "Si" which had a base price of: $14,898.
