Default NEW RWD conversion thread. opinions? comments?(keep somewhoat on subject)

In light of the rescent 'locking' of my last thread. I have started a new one hopefuly to get some answers and honest opinions, not start a war, reguarding the real question at hand. I tried to settle the big fuss in my last forum but im a noob to honda tech and it wouldnt allow me to post any more. I have been here for what 2 days? And already started a war.
ALLOW ME TO SETTLE A FEW THINGS

*Drifting is something fun it is a skill dangerous to do on road not to show off its just fun to get sideways, my opinion
* true i will probably not do anything like RWD conversion but its a fun thing to think about that works our creative genus to spawn more realistic ideas
*Im anti-rice too god knows
*it would be ignorant to put down RWD bcuz all uv ever know is FWD, rwd offers a lot more fun for the way I DRIVE my opinion(RWD RWD AWD its all good!)
*theres nothig wrong with drifting its fun if you dont like it dont do it or comment on it, it shouldnt bother you if youv actually tried it in the right sittuation time and place
*drift "racing" isnt really my opinion just somthing fun to do
*drifting isnt faster in any kind of racing with the exception of sharp turns in things such as rally and super-sharp mountain type road turns
*the hatch at rankin road a lil while back here in houston(close to it)owned everything there- viper couple of vettes and a supra...funny ****

HamiltonRex had the most intelligent thing to say out of everything I'v heard:
99.9% of us here on Hondatech are NOT professional racers
DO NOT know how to drift properly
WILL NEVER be professional racers
DO NOT have the fab skills to make a RWD crx.
WONT BE in a professional drifing video viewed by thosands.

I just want to discuss RWD civic or whatever conversions and also need a lil help on understanding this torsion bar bullshit that comes in my 86 hatch. A couple more things- DO NOT TURN YOUR NOSE UP TO ANYTHING : RWD/FWD/AWD unless you've honestly tried it for a considerable time and truely understand it. 3 years ago I wouldn't look at a Japanese car. now I have 2. I LOVE AWD but its not as fun as RWD because thats my prefrence that is reasionable for my style of driving...FWD just isnt as fun to me no matter what you say or do...it isnt!my opinion though. the best thing iv seen so far for fwd is the mcdonalds tray slide thing...that is fun...

PS i am not interested in hearing about your outrage or testosterone imballance just have some intelligent conversation and get along

zakats,
I think you're more mature than most of the people on H-T (not all, just most). Thanks for your intelligence and thanks for your patience. I appreciate it, and welcome.

I know about both but I do prefer FWD and that my friend is why I race hondas.

Anyway on to the subject did you check out that sewwt project tinker is doing with the RWD del sol?
I think the driveshaft option is the wrong way to go since you would have to probly hack the floor and make a rear diff so if you really want to do it put the motor in the rear like cody did.

Just a thought. How about using one of the rear ends from the 4WD Wagovans? These were made from 1984-1991. The 1984-1987 Wagovan used a fairly conventional solid rear axle type rear end. And in 1988-1991, the rear end was an independent type. Now I don't know how much power these can handle. But it seems to me that if you want the easiest install possible on a 1984-1991 Civic/CRX, the rear ends (and associated suspension hardware like trailing arms) from these vehicles would be a logical starting point.
