New clutch problems, please help if you can
I have a '90 CRX Si, stock motor and trans. So a couple weeks ago I put in a new clutch I got off ebay (a cheap brand, XTD). I installed it myself with help from a friend, everything went fine, car ran good during break-in.
Now, this passed week on my way home from work, the clutch started acting up, I got on the highway and went through the first three gears then I couldn't get into 4th and the clutch pedal felt loose on the top and hard at the bottom of travel. I couldn't get it into any gear with the clutch all the way down. I ended up shutting off the car and putting it in first and starting it to get off the highway and onto a sidestreet. I popped the hood and first thing I thought of was the clutch cable got loose somehow, so I tightened it some and the car was able to shift again, but the clutch pedal felt strange, like it is sticking. So, I was able to get the car home by just adjusting the clutch cable.
Now, I started driving it again after Thanksgiving break and the clutch just doesn't feel right, chatters like crazy in first gear from a stop and the pedal still feels like it's sticking sometimes. I don't know what to do, I really don't want to pull the trans off again as it's getting really cold here and it's a pain to do. Anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: New clutch problems, please help if you can (mstolars)
sounds like the throw out bearing to me. does the noise stop when you let off the pedal when driving.

Re: New clutch problems, please help if you can (boost'd_crx)
I pretty much just put the throw out bearing on there, then popped those 2 springs on with a pick. Was something else supposed to pop in that might have popped in that one day causing the clutch cable to go loose?
EDIT: Well, I just looked at the manual and I think I probably installed the throw out bearing wrong. Stupid me for just throwing it together without looking at the manual Guess I'll be puttin on the heat in the garage and tearin the trans out again
