My JDM EF7 build so far - Loads of pictures!!!
I thought I'd show you guys what I've been up to with one of my CRX's the post is a cut & paste job from my local forums edited to make sense I hope! Enjoy my bad photography anyway!....
Ok so about 2.5 years ago I bought this cheap with a snapped cam belt with the idea of having a running CRX on the road to enjoy while I got my house/garage/life sorted (that's all taking a lot longer than I thought but that's another story).
Here's a few pictures of the car when I bought it
The mirror visors lasted about a week before some chavs (I'm not sure if you have chavs in the US but scum/wastes of skin) broke them & keyed the car although it has JDM lacquer peal anyway but it's pretty much rust free which is the main thing!
So after some life stuff got in the way for 2 years ish I now have a garage that's nearly sorted so with the help of some mates progress has been made with this CRX :D
My friend Kev & me stripped the car down a bit & took the D series running gear out of the car so I could make it ready for a B16 to go in.
He's the car after a quick wash.
Here's the B16 I'm using for now to get the car running.
So as I had the B16 on my engine stand I thought I'd throw some of my turbo parts on it & see how we are looking
I have a ton of other cool parts to get on the car once it's running so I'll chuck bunches of pictures up as I remember
More progress....
ITR Flywheel I think??
ARP flywheel bolts
ACT extreme clutch with my OEM clutch alignment tool
I picked up a B18c4 for a good price so thought why not! This is it inc ITR intake cam (As I had it thanks Peter) with a S9b gearbox which is a little long for NA but will suit the turbo once it goes on
Engine & box in the car using my Hasport mounts. Fitted the 2.5" 4-1 Mugen copy manifold for NA running in
I'm aware the swap could do with a clean up but that can wait for now I just want it running! I'll clean & paint the engine/box etc when it all comes out while I forge the engine!
More..
Looks like I'm going to be doing a bunch of cutting before the turbo goes on if I want to keep to a full width radiator!
Stock Evo exhaust elbow fits nicely I can now try to find out if the after market elbows should fit!
Nice easy "down" pipe
My stock x-member was really close to the gearbox so I thought I might as well fit my traction bar which didn't fit as the bar that the radiator mounts to was in the way..... As you can see it fits now
Tomorrow I have some box section steel & some angle to weld in to replace the chassis I've cut out!
Lots of room now with the traction bar fitted
A quick mock up of the angle that will form part of the replacement bar
Still no chance the full width radiator is going in with the turbo without replacing the T piece
Chassis work in rust proof primer.
My half size alloy rad.
Half size rad in with the turbo it will work but it's not perfect.
I thought I'd see how much room I'll have left after I mount my intercooler it might well end up the other way up mind!
Not much done on my CRX today but I got another B18 CRX running
Test fitted some bling... Edelbrock Victor-X, RPM 74mm Billet TB, Aeromotive FPR, BDL fuel rail & RC 750cc injectors
[quote="BillB"]Innovative hydro to cable clutch adapter, just waiting on a clamp to finish the shortened clutch cable
Top hose inc Moroso filler neck, I need to find a slightly longer section to go between the filler neck & the radiator so the radiator can tuck under the slam panel further
VW Alloy MK2 Golf (Rabbit) radiator with a small amount of trimming it can sit further across to the left leaving me some room to do a back door style intercooler!

Looks like a great project!
Question, and chance you can get your hands on another T bar (part in front of the rad)? It is the one from that exact model i'm interested in

Re: My JDM EF7 build so far - Loads of pictures!!!
Thanks!
Yeah those T bars are hard to find! I have another but until I make my mind up what shape front end that CRX is having (I'd love to get a Exospeed 3 piece but it would cost me so much to get it here!) I'm keeping the T bar incase I go with a Vtec shape Mugen (copy).
Have a look on www.hondacrx.co.uk/forum there's quiet a few JDM cars being broken at the moment so you might get lucky
