Default My 1990 HF Crx

I decided to post a timeline of my current crx. Ill add to it as I find pics and old posts ive made . One day I decided to trade my 89 Si shell for a 90 HF shell. Since we were trading bare shells only, it meant swapping out E V E R Y T H I N G from car to car. It was a slow and grueling process but in the end I was happy, somewhat. haha. I found various problems the previous owner didnt tell me about the body but dealt with em accordingly . Last I saw it , it has a bunch of dents on it, has some 18s and doesnt look half as clean as when I owned it.

when i bought it

when it was traded

I let the dude keep the JDM front minus corners and blinkers

Yanked my motor out :D

LsVtec
183whp/136ftlbs untuned
B18b block
CTR pistons
Pr3 head
CTR cams

March 2005
Time to get crackin'

Great. Now time for the BLUE interior

Time for the EG radiator instl

I needed a bracket for the top of the radiator so I picked this up at the local Vatozone and

grinded off to where all I had left was a bracket :D

Guesstimated the bends on it

Good Fit. Needs Paint

Radiator sat too close to the Avid crossmember :/ I decided to cut part of the rad support with

the good ol Dremel.

Too bad it died 20% of the way. Went and got another one

Some white paint and its done

Next up involved cuttin the stock bumper to accomodate the JDM hood and lights while my UK

bumper made its way in the mail notice the gay painted lower part :/

April 05
Since the UK bumper was takin its time I decided to paint the lower half of the bumper with

some Krylon ultra flat black

oh yea, this is the interior that went in it

May 05
decide the gunmetal didnt go with this car and went all out JDM MAD VTAK YO gunmetal on the

wheels. Also got the UK front bumper finally :D

Aug 05
Decided to go BOOST. I lined up a B18b with a Honda Tech member. Sold my LsVtec. A few hours

before picking the motor up I called "fellow honda tech member" , " oh dude my buddy doesnt wanna sell the motor anymore" GREAT.I had a feeling things didnt add up so I asked if this "buddy" was offered more for the motor and decided to back out on our deal. never got a response. I guess that answered my question. I wish people were just honest.

Nov05
still no motor. Decided to polish my gsr tranny

Jan 06
Still havent been able to find a good deal on a B18b. I pick up a tuned d16a6 swap with a JG

301x cam, a port and polish job, and a JG cam gear. had 6k on it since the rebuild. throw it in

the rex for the time being since I didnt plan on driving my 02 boosted si daily.

a month later, the disk decides to shatter on me while merely cruising on the hwy.
GREAT. Yanked the motor out. sold it for $300.

Feb/March 06
Finally got a motor. Picked up some unknow brand 16x7s with a FAT lip. like 3-4" thick.got another header and decided to freshen it up a bit. Also swapped out the blue dash finally! I now have complete Si interior aside from the carpet which isnt noticeable anyways. ditched the rear drums and spent a bunch of hours cleanin and paintin on the engine bay to get it minty fresh .Also did a minor wire tuck

Progress so far:

car:
1990 Honda CRX HF .
2030lbs

Ingredients so far:

B18b motor 65k
Gsr polished tranny
Place racing mounts
Avid Front crossmember with solid radius rods
ACT HD plate w/ 6 puck disk
STR fuel rail
B&m FPR
Accel Wires
Rywire Obd0-1 ecu/dist harness
Neptune obd1 p75
greddy sp2 exhaust
dc 4-1 ceramic header
91 si rear disk setup
complete black crx si interior
UKDM Tailights
UKDM headlights
4300k HID kit

drum brakes!

gone

disk goodness

this awaits as soon as i upgrade the brakes

Heres pics from last week :D

I chopped the rad support. the thin metal piece. my crossmember is an aftermarket one

I will soon . I just stripped the clear on the lips so they shine more and scuffed up the silver paint so its ready for paint. Its gonna be the same bronze as the multispoke 15s in that picture. I also did my crossmember that color

As far as the sandpaper used. I used 200, then 400 , cleaned it down with carb cleaner, then followed with 2000 grit, wiped it all down, the busted out the mothers polish on it. BLING BLING! I have some more minor sanding to do but its pretty much done.

I came home to this strange package. *gasp* what could it be?!

from amsterdam?!

WOW. EDM Glass headlights and EDM Tailights! yay. no more pesky H4H bulbs since they use standard US H4 bulbs

With the motor for the headlight adjust feature AND the switch!

Sunset shot

so yea, it says vtec. haha. I had a b20vtec ready to drop in initially. After thinkin it over , I knew I wouldnt be able to make 300whp safely on a stock b20x bottom end as I would with a B18b . So I went straight B18b instead after orderin these thats my excues and Im stickin to it. Since I had the bumper off again I went ahead and readjusted it to minimize some of the gaps in it. looks a bit better.
