VtecNotRequired's CRX Build
I thought I'd make a build post since I am going through this build fairly quickly and am taking lots of pictures.
Here are some pics of the car when I got it, was a shell, no motor, blue dx interior, aftermarket flip up moon roof, si rear badge.
Blue dash, black DX door panels, and blue carpet. all bad
May 1st, 2010
Ripped out the blue rear and got full SI rear plastics minus the cargo cover.
May 5th, 2010
Took out the Blue DX dash and carpet
New SI dash, black SI carpet, SI center console, SI Cluster, EF sedan steering wheel (have SI wheel, debating whether to keep this or not), still have black dx door panel on d/s and nothing on p/s.
I still got some final touches to do, fully put in the carpet, re align a few things in the dash.
May 6th, 2010
New SI front bumper with SI lip, New corner lights, new bumper lights, new oem fenders, new rear bumper, new doors w/ SI door panels, OEM Honda window visors. I have a new Hood but not installed yet.
I just put all the body on and fitted it right today and when i finished it was dark, I will take pictures of the interior with si door panels tomorrow. Still need to install the new hood and new oem headlights.
Near Future Plans:
Install 93 GSR Cloths, i have to take apart the old crx seats and put the brackets on the da seats (look at interior pic up top with blue dash)
Install Hood
Install D16A6 (temp build)
New radiator support
2007 Honda Fit wheels
This is all to just get the car running My complete build is below, in order from when I plan on doing it, the top being soonest, bottom being farthest away:
Body Work (clean, sand, jdm fenders, primer)
Paint (CRX SI Teal)
Interior Accessories and Suspension (deck, subs, strut bars, sway bars, lca's)
B20B (already have block in machine shop getting a balanced, knife edged and micro polished crankshaft, honed cylinders, balanced block the works)
Wiseco 8.8:1 Forged Pistons
Eagle Rods
ACL Bearings
Type R Water Pumps
Type R Oil Pump
Moroso Oil Pan
New OEM Bottom End Gaskets
Cometic Headgasket
B16 Head (will buy while building bottom end and put in machine shop for port and polish, port matched and w.e else i can think of)
GSR Cams
AEM Cam Gears
ARP Headstuds
Any ARP Bolt I can get for my engine
Garrett GT28 Turbo
Speedfactory Turbo Manifold
Rest of the turbo Kit
Walbro Fuel Pump
Type R Intake Manifold
This will be a pretty long build, i am planning on having the b20v/turbo being installed with 0 to low miles on everything so it can all break in together and the piston rings set right, summer 2011, I should have it running with an a6 and start the body work and b20v this summer, subscribe for updates ill update as often as i remmber

Re: My 1990 CRX Build
Here is an update:
all this was installed over like a week time period.
91 CRX SI Door Panels
91 CRX SI Fenders, Hood, Bumper, Lip, Window Visors
Skunk2 LCA & Coils
91 CRX SI Rear Bumper & Tail Lights
D16A6 Swap going into the rex as a commuter motor, picked it up for cheap so im just completing the car to 91 SI, the B20B will be in soon.
Heres a pic with everything ready to go, only problem I am having now is motor not getting any fuel, the pump is not getting any power, I replaced the entire wiring harness from the dash to the headlights, including the fuse box. I switched the fuel pump relay and fuse is working, only thing it could be is a ground or the pump itself so no big deal there but heres pic of motor.
Ok finished the motor and started working on the interior. finished swapping the carpet, dash, seats, steering wheel, rear pieces. The only thing I am missing to complete my 91 SI interior is a rear cargo cover. The SI seats are just temporary while I get some different ones.
and last but not least here is a panorama shot i took, 3 pics combined to one.
any help on the fuel problem would be appreciated
